I don't know much about them. But I really think I need one for whilst I am in hospital.

Does anyone have one? I fancy the brain training games (I am quite stupid, so hope it may help me) I also like the idea of the dog games (but don't really know what they are about)

Does anyone have one and is it good? Is it something I would get bored of quickly? Do you think it would be good whilst I am in hospital? I will be on a lot of drugs, will I be able to use it whilst even more dopey than normal?

Thank you xxxx

I bought one at Christmas. Got very bored with the Brain Training very quickly, as I am quite thick!!

I got Nintendo Dogs and love it. The games are expensive but I buy them off E.bay.

i have one. It's great for long journeys and airports, so I'm sure it would be handy in hospital.

Nintendogs is a bit shit, i'm not sure I would bother with it.

Brain training is ok. Picross is excellent, 42 all time classics is good, and might be good if you are a bit dopey. Puzzlequest is fab, very addictive, Prism is fun, Mr FtG is enjoying Zelda and the phantom hour glass.

Ooh thank you, some good recommendations there.

We can't really afford it, but I am in hospital so often I am sure I will get lots of use to it (so will tell Mr Mf, it will be an investment)

    Thank you x

(Are there any games that help with spelling and grammar?)

I bought "My Word Coach" and I played it non stop for weeks, much better than brain training.

I have Puzzle Quest which is basically matching 3 or more shapes, but some do different things and some you have to collect to have enough mana for spells and things. It's very addictive though and even though I've finished it once I'm doing it again as it's a nice relaxing thing to do before bed!

Puzzlequest is great, as is Orcs V Elves if you like roleplaying type games.

Best game we have is Lego star Wars. Love it, love it, love it

Hmmm, I'm going to go against the current and say DO NOT get the Brain Training games.. I got the first one, and although it was fun in the beginning, as it was a niche thing, I started to feel terrible if I couldn't do the tests everyday, because Dr Kawashima would always say to me the day I was back "I'm sorry that I didn't see you yesterday" etc. ARGH! Used to wind me up NO end!

I used to have Nintendogz, but the games I preferred are the following (GEEK WARNING!!! ?)

    - Theme Park - remake of the classic PC game that used to run on 6 Floppy Disks!
    - Mario Kart - even Jnr Smith and Stepdaughter love this game (keeps them occupied for HOURS while H takes them here and back to their mum's)
    - Sim City
    - Settlers II - great old game, the characters are just so cute!
    - My Sims - kind of like The Sims, kind of like Sim City..
    - Mario 64 - the old N64 game where Mario was suddenly brought into 3D rather than a 2D platformer..
    - Zoo Tycoon - I've only ever had the PC version, but this looks just as good!

Umm.. yeah.. I've just realised I'm as big a geek as H! Although, what am I supposed to do when I'm a gaming widow? ?

I like zoo keeper, suduko master and animal crossing. H likes picross (sp). Think the puzzle games are good due to the screen size

We bought my dad one to use when he was in hospital. He loves it! He has 2 brain training games, sight training and scrabble. He was in hospital for 3 and half weeks and never got bored of it. In fact, my mum called me the other day to say that he now makes her play scrabble with him at 8am every morning ?

You have to get Cake Mania, stay away from Settlers (the first one, it's terrible)

I have one and also love it - great for train journeys, holidays and occupying me whilst H is on PS3!

My fav games are Zookeeper - nothing to do with keeping animals but a highly addictive puzzle game, Brain Training & More Brain Training, Cooking Mama - you have to do various movements to create dishes incl chopping, stirring, flipping and Diner Dash where you waitress your own restaurants.

Def get a bundle deal to start as you normally get something free - a game or accessory pack. Try amazon, HMV or Game for the best deals.

Get a DS! We have one and it's great fun. I think it works best with puzzle related stuff. We have the brain-training ones, a vison one, 42 Games in one (Clubhouse Games) and a few others. Scrabble is remarkably good on it too.

I agree that the Brain Training ones can get boring quickly but some of the other puzzle ones we've been playing for nearly a year.

Another good one is Neves, which is a "place the shapes" type of thing.

Would second Evil Yoda and MrLadelley - Scrabble is v.good. i'm a bit bored of the brain training ones now, but i did play every day for a month, so think i over-played. they are quite good once in a while.

My 2 year old is better at mario than I am LOL.

I seem to be addicted to the scrabble and also to pokemon. My teenage son loves pokemon so I thought I'd have a go so we'd have something in common..... I think I spend more time playing that than he does now LOL
