No Honeymoon for Cousin and h in Mexico Now Barbados

My best friend was due to be on the same flight to go on their honeymoon.

I've just heard from her that they will be offered either a full refund or a new holiday and refund of the difference - they had also booked with Thomson so fingers crossed for your cousin!

Oh how awful!

typical of the helpline 'not working' you would think the amount of money ppl pay for a honeymoon they would have the decency to give them some information. what will happen with the money they have paid?

Just seen on the thomson web page that they will be offering the passengers that were due to fly out today another holiday to the value of what they have lost OR a full refund.

this may be of some comfort to your cousin x

My friend is getting married on the 9th May and were due to fly to Mexico the following Tuesday. They're trying to find something else now.

They are currently at mums, I should imagine they will have the same as you say a full refund or another holiday just need to get it confirmed. They where ringing a colleague of my friend at half 9 this morning. Will find out more in a bit. They live the other side of Shrewsbury, so not as if it is a 5 minute drive to the airport. We live in Northwich, so alott closer to Manchester. They are staying with my mum till they can get something sorted. Hopefully my friends colleague will be able to help them

Sorry Fiona there I am moaning about my honeymoon in 4 weeks and your cousin is sitting at home instead of on a plane right now ☹️.

I hope they manage to get something else organised although doesn't make up for the upset at the moment. x

Don't worry about it, as I say it puts my problems with my own honeymoon and my dad down a few notches.

As always I am here to help! Rang my friend who works at going places, she is at college today retraining. But she knows the business been in it erm 20 years. Sent them down to town with my mum who should be able to help them. Will let you know update of on lunch now.

Just spoke to my mum as no one was home, they where in town having a brew. All sorted, the are of to barbados on Thursday. I understand they have booked with a company called eclispe, my friend said they should transfer the holiday for them no problem. So not sure how they have gone on there with that but at least they have 24 hours to sort that side of things and they are still able to have a honeymoon. My friend has just said barbados is one of the most beautiful caribian destinations. One place she is desperate to go to.

Just happy they are sorted and getting a honeymoon

Haven't been on here for a while as got married end 2007 but still lurke around sometimes!!

Sorry to hear about all the hassle and worry for your cousin and H.

Just wanted to come on here and say we went to barbados a few years ago for the first time (and got engaged there!!!) We also returned there for our honeymoon. It is an absolutely beautiful place...gorgeous!!! Would recommend exploring the island. We hired a car. Each side of the island is different, particularly the coastlines if they are beach people.

They should have a well deserved lovely time!
