No idea what to get OH for a present!

MrsLtobe, 17 March, 2012 at 18:27 Posted on Planning 0 10

Hey all

I want to get my OH a present to open on the morning of our wedding day, but I'm struggling to think of ideas! He collects snowglobes (ironically I hope! haha) so thought a bride and groom snowglobe and a soppy letter... but want to give him something special. He doesn't like the 'normal' gifts (i.e. cuff links, hip flasks etc)

Any suggestions? What are you getting yours?

My OH is quite tricky to buy for also, but i've got him some aftershave that he can wear on the day and remind him of the day and a little goodie bag with little items in such as a miniture vodka - to calm his nerves, tissues - in case he sheds a tear of signing his life away!, mints, cup with - meet you at the altar, just little things like that. HTH

I want to get a boudoir photoshoot and leave the album on our bed when I leave to go to my mums the night before the wedding for my OH to see once I'm gone.

    This is entirely budget dependant!

I'm in the process of making H2B a memory photo book of our life together - pic of where we had our first date, our first house together, photos from holidays etc. I'm going to give it to him on the morning of our wedding (we're not following the tradition of sleeping separately the night before).

All great ideas, thank you! I've decided on:

    - 'My gorgeous groom' journal

    - 'Don't get cold feet' socks

    - 'Groom' boxers

    - Miniature JD and personalised shot glass

    - Wedding poem scroll

    - 'Keep calm and suit up!' t-shirt

    - How to be a good husband book

    - 'Marriage survival kit'

    - Bride and Groom snowglobe

    - Groom to be lucky sixpence coin

    - Husband to be card

What do you think? Are lots of little bits better than one big gift? Hmmm...

That all sounds like a lot of fun! I'm trying to organise getting a flag for his county Irish football team signed and then framed. I was thinking of doing a boudoir shoot but it's a bit more expensive than I wanted... I'd still like to do it but we'll see!

I'm sooo boring!!! I've got him aftershave. A very nice expensive one he's had his eye on for a while. Just hope he doesn't go out and buy it for himself in the meantime. Like he usually does before his birthday! I also want to get him a brietling watch if we have the budget left as he doesn't want a wedding ring!
