No set date but cant help looking

sammy-d, 1 January, 2010 at 20:51 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi girlies,

i got engaged 2 weeks ago and ive done nothing but talk and search wedding stuff. I think im doing my Fiance's head in. We cant even look at booking anything till later this year. Moving out is his major concern, and mine too if im honest. I guess its every girls dream to start planning there wedding.

Has anyone got any tips on how to not get to over excited cause i think i might burst. I just want to do it all now.

Happy new year

x

I got engaged two weeks ago too! Congratulations!!

Just because you're not setting a date straight away it doesnt mean you cant start looking and planning your day!! Theres no reason at all why you shouldnt be looking at venues, prices etc....then you have it all prepared for when you decide to set a date! We are looking at setting a date soon, and I have no idea of what I want, where I want it - I wish I had thought about it all before!!! Start getting some ideas together! x

I think thats my problem I know where I would like the service and the reception but cant do anything about it. Have chosen my wedding dress and his suit. Have been looking at caterers and mobile bars. I think im gonna go wedding mad. Looking forward to going back to work on monday and having something else occupy my mind. I sound like a mad woman. lol

    Congratulations to both of you!!!

We started planning before we got engaged, then booked the venue about 2 weeks after we told everyone!

As for dresses etc, unless you've tried it on, then you may change your mind. I picked a different dress from what I wanted!

Just look for Ideas, have a little wedding folder on the comp and get ideas together, makes things so much easier when you finally start planning/booking!!

    Lxx

I did that too....I'd already decided where we were getting married before it was official!

We brought our wedding forward, which I think was a good job as I think in the 2 and a half years it would have been I would hvae demented him! Instead he had 18 months of me wittering on and spending a small fortune on wedding mags!

I bought my first wedding magazines the other day and managed to get him to pay for them. hehe. I guess if i give it a couple more weeks I will have calmed down and will be concentrating about moving out (yeah right!!!). I think my mind is on overload.

    Congrats honey x

Wedding fayres are a fab place to start they are often held at venues and you get to sample lots of products and gain information on services and can strike good deals or get discount vouchers you can also get ideas of prices and if you are brave enough start playing one supplier off against the other, its never too early to start planning!!! x
