North East venue by the sea

thinkerbell, 8 September, 2013 at 17:09 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi

I'm new to the forum Smiley smile

My fiance and I haven't set a date yet but will be getting married in 2015. We've only been engaged for a month, do you think I'm not rushing things?

We are looking for a Reception venue somewhere in North Tyneside ideally however happy to look further afield (still local) but we would both really like something by the coast. The Grand in Tynemouth looks amazing but it's so expensive Smiley sad

Does anyone have any hidden gems they know of?

Thanks

Hello and welcome to hitched ?

We are getting married at a café in Robin Hood's Bay, near Whitby called Swell. It is a converted chapel and it has a ceremony room upstairs with all the old pews and a gorgeous terrace with sea views ;-) Obviously I am biased but I think it is a great venue! The only thing is the max capacity is 50 guests for a formal seated wedding breakfast so depends on your numbers.

I know its not North Tyneside but I had my reception at National Glass Centre in Sunderland in July. Fabulous venue, on riverside. Fabulous food and excellent staff. Highly recommended ?

We're getting married at Rushpool Hall in Saltburn-on-Sea in Cleveland. You can see the sea from the venue and my TOG is taking us down to the beach for photos. Its a beautiful place, and the staff their cant do enough to help you! Good luck

I went to an all day wedding at the Sage in Gateshead and it was amazing.

This is the link to the approved venue list fro North Tyneside. That's where I'm from and it's great!
