Not One RSVP...

IshouldCoco, 29 June, 2012 at 14:11 Posted on Planning 0 12

Is this the usually form of today when invites have been sent out?

We've sent the majority out and no one has RSVP'd. If I ask say, my or his family members they are like yeah we'll be there most probably. I find it annoying and pointless I've even sent them!!?

What was your RSVP date? I would find it rude if no-one bothered to reply by the date, but wouldn't stress about it until we got to a few weeks before if literally no-one had replied by then. Still nothing you can do about it until the date passes though IMO.

    When did you post them?

We got a few back straight away (excited bridesmaids!) and then a steady trickle until the RSVP date.

We only had to chase a few of H's mates.

We included RSVP's within our invites to make it easier for our guests (A few did comment on the fact we had not put a stamp on them ?). I did have to chase a few evening invites babck but genrally the all day guests were all back within 4 weeks of me sending them.

I always send RSVP's back. More so now as I know what it felt like when I was planning my wedding and chasing replys.

    Good Luck x

Yeah I'd agree with Kharv here - we started off with 4 a day from all of the over-excited people but now trickled down to around 2/3 per week. Which is annoying as i want everyone to reply NOW...... so i know how you feel, but try not to worry about it!

We've also had a few RSVP's verbally and via text message but the traditionalist in me really wanta the card in the post to put on the fireplace!

No it's just a call or text we're expecting! Still have another week to go I guess.

Just gutted we've done the wedding here, spending twice as much as an abroad one would. Stuff like this just highlights it I guess Smiley amazing

I insisted on the card because I'm evil like that. Joked that they wouldn't get any wine if I didn't get it (I'd asked for their wine preference on the RSVP card).

Was obviously joking but it worked - I now have a full album of lovely RSVPs!

Ours were all fairly ok at getting back, although we did chase the odd one. We included an email address as well as a postal address to RSVP to. Most people sent an email, which was a little disappointing, but at least it meant they responded.

Out of over 100 invites, I have had 6 replies. The RSVP date was today. Got to the point where I feel like no one is interested at all. 8 weeks left, wish we had gone abroad. Xx

Ours went out about 3 weeks ago and so far we've had 18 replies out of 64. I'm getting impatient but they do have another month until the RSVP date. It's frustrating waiting for people though.

Exactly how l feel, we were only having it here for 'family's' sake... l'm adding up costs to see how much we'd lose/save getting married on on honeymoon now.

If you enclosed RSVP's and it had passed the deadline I would be concerned. If you are asking people to reply by phone call or text you may then have to chase if not getting any replies. Ours started coming back within a week from excited friends and family but we had to text a few stragglers towards the end. The annoying thing was guests we knew that were vegetarian leaving the dietary requirements blank ?
