now which one do I choose!!

honeysparkle, 9 March, 2012 at 17:59 Posted on Planning 0 19

I'd finally convinced myself to order this dress from Queen of holloway http://www.queenofholloway.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_57&products_id=379 but since this morning they've added new lines, I really like this one too http://www.queenofholloway.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_57&products_id=417 so come on be blunt what do you don't you like about each dress, so I can choose I'm hoping to wear with a purple or pink petticoat and possibly a pair of converse (though not definite) I can't do heels for love or money.

Definitely the second one for me, love the neckline. I think the converse would ruin the look though ?

I prefer the second since it's a more modern top with a retro skirt. Unless you're doing a full themed 1950s wedding, I think it will work better. As for shoes, I think you need low heels (1 inch block heels would do, or even near-flats), but I can't see trainers working.

I think the second one is definitely more flattering. I know you are a size ten from a previous post, so you are a slim Jim. But even so, not many people can wear a shift dress and look great in it (and the high neck one reminds me of a shift dress!).

I would only pick the shift dress one if you have stunning arms and shoulders and absolutely no chest. If you have even a hint of a bosom, the sweetheart neckline will do you many more favours. And its truly 1950s style!

I actually like the 1st best. Not so fussy and then you can focus in the shoes :-) x

It was the neck line on the second the stopped me ordering the other and as you have rightly pointed out the high neck is deffinlty not going to be good on my fairly ample bosom.

I blame you DB for making me want those converse too much...I think they could work with the first dress but not the second. x

I prefer the second one for the same reason as DB... although, if you haven't paid for it yet, have you looked at Vivienne of Holloway? She does a really lovely lace 1950s one which is a similar style

    and YAY CONVERSE!!!

Another vote for #2! I love the neckline and if you are blessed on top it will make the most of that!

They're both amazing (I think I prefer the first one) and I love converse...but not with those dresses Smiley sad You don't need to wear huge heels, a little kitten heel would complement the style really well, although there's nothing to stop you changing into converse for after the ceremony!

I too love the 2nd dress it just says more bride than high street for me even though it still isn't too fussy it says bride. Have you thought about for the ceremony part wearing ivory satin flat shoes they have these on ebay they are £7.50 plus £2.25 P&P so £10 all in. You could cahnge into the converse for the pub then and have more photo's of you in them with your dress.

Thanks everyone. had another look and dress 2 is on order. I get a little flutter looking at it ? although if I don't like it on I'll change for the other.

Still not sure about shoes. Like I said earlier don't think the converse will work with this dress so probably will be some sort of coloured pumps.
