Obsessed

LauraJaneRush, 15 October, 2009 at 18:28 Posted on Planning 0 10

This is a bit of a pointless post but just wandering if anyone else feels a bit obsessed with their wedding? I got engaged in August and getting married on the 23rd October 2010 and all I want to do is plan the wedding! I'm a teacher and therefore have lots of things to do on the computer but as soon as I turn it on I'm distracted by the internet and more planning!!

Is it just me? Will this wear off soon???!!!!!

    Sorry to be sceptical but are you real or someone I know winding me up? my reasons for saying this;

    1. I got engaged in August

    2. married 23rd October 2010

    3. am a teacher

    4. am also openly obsessed about planning my wedding.

    So either welcome twin, tell me more, or fess up if your one of my 'friends', just seems very spooky.

    It wears off. belieeeeeeve me. in the weeks running up to the wedding, i was desperate to do anything else, even finish off my masters (and that's saying something, given how boring the topic of my masters was!)

    but at the start, just after you've got engaged, it is the best fun, and then once you have Done The Deed, you wish you were back there, obsessing about colour schemes, and dresses, and venues.... <wistful look>

    welcome to hitched, btw!

Have also booked photographer, dj and got my bridesmaid dresses! thats it though, Have arranged to give notice at our registrar office although getting married under another one! That was a joke as they are only open 9-3 monday to friday!!! Thank god for half term! How about you?

    Yeah, I've definitely gone through phases of enjoying the planning then needing a break from it.

    At the moment I'm totally focused on the planning - going to try and keep this going and get as much done as I can up to the beginning of December then I'll have about a month off for XMas and new Year then get right back into for the last sprint at the beginning of next year.

    Wow, your very organised. Ive booked venue (all in one place), photographer is sorted, decided on colour scheme and general style, got ideas for lots of things like favours etc, but as yet that is it, nothing else booked. Im guessing that this the fresh excitement of it all, then there will be a lull leading up to christmas. Going to get a few things sorted in half term; like booking florist, continue dress shopping, then focus on trying to deliver a cheap and cheerful christmas.

    Me too, im so obsessed with the wedding planng at the moment its untrue, got everything booked and deposits paid, just got to confirm hair and make-up, i have now started making our invites, so far have printed and stuck in the inserts and just started on the front, of the evening invites, we wanted to include our john lewis gift list when sending them out in May/June but not sure that they will have sent us the lists by then (they have an option where they will send you copies free to include) so may just print some off ourselves.

    WSS. At the beginning I raced out and bought loads of wedding mags and spent hours searching the net and stressing over stupid little things. Towards the end I was definitely thinking about how nice it would be not to have to do wedding related things! We had a fantastic day and wouldn't have changed anything but to be honest, I am glad it's over now lol. It probably sounds awful but after 9 months of planning (on and off) I'm well and truly ready for something 'new' now.
