    Hey,

I am getting married on 29.10.2011 too! So far I have:

    • Booked venue and registrar (ceremony, reception etc all in one place) – deposits paid
    • Sent out save the dates (designed myself, made on vistaprint)
    • Decided on and ordered invitations – deposit paid
    • Booked Harpist to play music in ceremony and drinks reception – deposit paid
    • Booked photographer – deposit paid
    • Booked in for a menu/drinks tasting at the venue on 20th June (very exciting)
    • Booked chair coveres – deposits paid
    • Booked florist and had first appointment with her to discuss options – now waiting for a rough quote and no doubt will change my mind lots with this
    • Decided on favours (sparklers and mini toffee apples) – delegated the job of pricing this up, finding materials etc to my mum.
    • Booked accommodation for the evening before and night of the wedding for us and parents.
    • Found, ordered and fully paid for wedding dress
    • Found, ordered and fully paid for bridesmaid dresses
    • Looked at / thought about wedding rings we want
    • Cake sorted – sister in laws sister has a cupcake business

In the process of doing / still to do:

    • Book the evening entertainment (I think we have now decided on this)
    • Order mens suit hire (we know pretty much what we want but OH needs to go and try on and see whether he likes it in the flesh)
    • Decide on table names / menu so that we can get these cards made by same person as we have for invitations . Also order a guestbook from the same
    • Decide on readings / how we want our ceremony to go, choose people to do readings – send this off to the registrars
    • Make photo booth props and figure out how to do a photo guest book (technology wise – e.g. Polaroid camera?)
    • Buy my other bits – shoes, veil, undies, jewellery etc
    • Buy gifts for people
    • Sort out wedding hair / make up for
    • Look into hiring a speakers etc for IPOD disco
    • Collect together photos for the photo placecards we are doing – see where we have gaps and figure out what to do about it. Once I have the photos I then need to get them printed through MOO.com
    • Book a date to see Harpist to choose music (will do this the same weekend as Menu tasting)
    • Book a date to see photographers for our pre wedding shoot
    • Go to the jewellery quarter in Bham to pick OH ring and get mine made (will do this the same weekend as Menu tasting)
    • Find a cake topper
    • Do playlist for IPOD reception thing (and ask guests for suggestions in their invites)

So still lots to do, but I feel like the big stuff is out of the way and the rest of it is the more fun stuff. Apart from the hair/make up thing. I can see me having issues with finding someone for that in a price I can afford.

Wow Wonkey you seam ever so organised :-)

All my friends / Family keep telling me I am but I really don't feel it and if i'm honest i'm starting to panic a little now as the ticker keeps going down day by day. I'm also worried that nothing will co-ordinate as I have a colour scheme of ivory / oyster but no theme ?

    Hello, I'm 29th October too!

    I feel in control at the moment but there still seems like so much to do!! So far I have;

    • Booked venue
    • Ordered dress
    • Got shoes
    • Sorted bridesmaid dresses and shoes
    • Ordered groomsmen suits
    • Booked honeymoon!!!!!
    • Booked florist
    • Booked TOG and VOG
    • Booked cars
    • Invites ready to be picked up!
    • Favours
    • Sorted entertainment and DJ
    • Designed cake and paid deposit
    • Booked teeth whitening!!!
    • Got guestbook and few decoration type things
    • Bridesmaid presents

    Still need to do:

    • Rings
    • Sort hair and makeup trial (not too worried as using same people my sister had last year who were great)
    • Get card box
    • Present for H2B
    • Presents for ushers and BM
    • Decide what I'm having in my hair (this seems to be stressing me out the most ATM!! Know exactly how I want my hair but can't decide side tiara or comb)
    • Set up honeymoon gift list
    • Pick hymms and readings
    • Pick menu (got the tasting booked for a few weeks time yum!)
    • About a million and one other things that I can;t really do until nearer the time like table plans!

    Stressful!

We don't have a 'theme' either. We have aubergine/gold/ivory as colours. We have a nod towards the season through our favours, but other than that we are just doing what we want. E.g. our table names will be our favourite authors with a quote from one of their books. Our place cards will actually be a photo of the guest (preferably with one of us in it too) which will act as a nice memory / conversation starter with others on the tables. We are having a photo guestbook where guests can use our home made photo booth (with props etc), stick in the book and then write something. But this is because I don't like traditional guest books. We are having the open fires lit, candles on the table. Overall our 'theme' is 'cosy, relaxed and personal'

Just go with what you like, think about how you want your day to feel and everything will be fine ?

Forgot to say too, in terms of how much I have got done / how organised I am. I tend to maybe have one weekend a month where I go crazy and sort out lots of stuff. Then I sit on my bum for three weeks. It works for me. So for example, the weekend we are menu tasting we will also find wedding rings, meet up with harpist and hopefully have decided in readings etc for the ceremony to run them by the people we want to do them.

We find allocating set times to do wedding things means we are really productive in that weekend.

I'm 1st October. I'm pretty much good to go!

Everything is ordered / booked apart from DJ and rings - DJ im booking today funny enough and we have an appt for rings on 4th May.

I've actually hit a wall and feeling a bit depressed about it as i have nothing to plan anymore!

Invites will be here next month so that will give me something to do i guess....

Trying to arrange a hen do which is stressing me out too.

I'm on a bit of a downer tbh!

I've got Smooch coming Friday for wedding rings, organising the car, waiting for an appointment to discuss my favours and I'm about to order my shoes. I think I've got the wording for my invites sorted, just need to look around for cards for info to put inside the invites. I'll have a look during my leave as this pc won't let you view auction websites!
