October 2013 Brides

4 September, 2012 at 15:11 Posted on Planning 0 194

Hellooo fellow Bride-to-bes ?

I got engaged on 18th August and within 2 weeks I have booked my venue, which due to being a Sunday wedding had a deal on so I got everything you could possibly want at a reception all for one price! (cake, dj, food, drinks, table dressing, fairy lights, canapés, free bedroom etc). We were very lucky! We then went and booked the church and also I got in touch with an old school friend who agreed to be my photographer and a family friend is doing all my wedding stationary as a gift!

I do have to admit that I was planning my wedding for a long time before he asked me, bless him! (Am I mad or had anybody else been as crazy as me?!)

I have 12 months to find my perfect dress, book the cars, flowers, get the rings, make my favours and my HTB will sort out the suits. I have a few bits and bobs I want like cheesy balloon confetti for the first dance etc but I feel lucky that I have a whole year to sort these things out now that all the major things are booked.

We are marrying in Cheshire. I am so excited!

How is everybody getting on with their plans? Are there any worries? Can any Cheshire Brides recommend me any Bridal Boutiques?

http://pinterest.com/xxterri87xx/ here is my Pinterest board. Feel free to let me know if you know of any shops/websites for cute/fun/vintage wedding ideas ? Congratulations everyone! xXx

Hi, I have booked my wedding for Oct 18th 2013 Smiley smile! Feels ages away but I am sure it will fly by. I have booked venue, which includes all the decorations, disco, wedding breakfast etc. I have also booked my photographer. I haven't done much else really, need to start dress shopping soon.

I didnt realise how long it took for dresses to arrive after they've been ordered - that freaked me out a lot but when I saw "the one" I just knew I had to have it which took the pressure off!

How long is your dress taking to arrive? I was waiting until October to get dress shopping so then its a year until the big day, also gives me chance to lose abit of weight.

Another October 13 Bride here!! ? I'm on Saturday the 5th and am also getting married in Cheshire (Knutsford).

I have booked the venue, tog, cake, DJ and went dress shopping on Sat. (Amazing) I went to J'adore in Timperly and Lydia was so lovely and made me feel really at ease. They stock Mori Lee and Ronald Joyce and have a really wide selection of gowns. I tried on every style just to get ideas and really surprised myself. I also went to Agape and although i've heard great reviews I wasn't overly impressed. I felt a little more pressured and didn't really find anything I liked. That's probably just a matter of taste though. I'm looking for some others to try, so let me know if you find somewhere amazing. Looking forward to how we are all coming along over the next year x

    Hello fellow October brides.

    Hope all is well.

Booked our videographer at the weekend, and also paid deposits for fairy lights and chairs.

Next thing on my list is dress ?

Terri you will love the whole dress shopping experience. My advice try on EVERYTHING. You really will surprise yourself, even if you really hate in on the hanger. I've booked a couple more appointments for the 30th and can't wait for round 2. ?

It seems Terri left when I was on my hols...have I missed something?!

Anyway, as it's now in October, thought I would see how everyone is getting on.

I've done nothing more but am going dress shopping again in a couple of weeks.

    Hello!!

I'm Karen, my H2B proposed to me on 6th April 2012, he wanted to move in before we got engaged so he moved in on 5th and proposed on 6th...ha ha. He took me to our most favourite place, where we used to go for some "us" time (live with my sister and her hubby) and proposed there which couldn't have been more perfect if I had of planned it myself. He wanted to get an ice-cream but my phone was at home on charge and I wanted to tell the world!! So I told my parents, they mentioned that they already knew because he'd asked their permission.

He then organised a surprise engagement meal that night. Bless him!

We are getting married in Bickley Manor. Our colours are burgandy and ivory and the wedding theme (although I didn't realise we had one) seems to be hearts. I'm a hearts and sparkles kinda girl. Our tables are named after sweets (we both have a sweet tooth). My sister is MOH with my 2 other bridesmaids as well and H2B's brother is Best Man with my sis' hubby as groomsman and H2B's best mate as other grooms man.

My first dance will be to "all about loving you" by Bon Jovi, I'm dancy with my dad to Edwin McCain "Walk with you" (can't stop crying at this song)...I've picked my dress and the girls dresses but not ordered yet (in case someone get's pregnant!).

H2B has 1 son with another woman (before my time obviously) who we are praying can come to the wedding but who lives approx 200 miles away and who's mum seems to enjoy saying yes and then coming up with excuses at the last minute. Grr!

Sorry but thought I'd introduce myself. Not sure what has happened to original poster...I've only just seen this thread

    K x

What style are you going for Kirsta? x

I think you should flash on here too, there aren't enough flashes on here!

Not 100% sure yet. I have tried on a few so far, and I would like a dress I can change from day to evening potentially.

Current favourites at the mo are...

    And

Hello and welcome. I think we are all at different stages of planning, plenty of time though so don't worry. ? Although I did get an email back from a MUA saying she wasn't available for my wedding date!!! She must be amazing if she's getting booked up 1 year in advance!!!

We are off out for a meal tonight for our -1 Anniversary, very excited and hoping to drink lots of champagne ?

Hi all, I'm getting married 19th October 2013 at Slaley Hall in Northumberland.

I have the tog, DJ and save the dates sorted, which will hopefully be going out in the next couple of weeks. Have been to a few dress shops but not found 'the one' yet. Oh we've also booked our honeymoon to Florida!

Not sure what we're doing for our year to go yet but it will also be our 9 year 'anniversary'!

It's good to see how everyone is getting on with the planning, felt like I didn't want to do too much before the one year mark incase I changed my mind.

My colour scheme at the moment is blush pink and mint.

Look forward to hearing how you're all getting on

EEeekkk, I've only just found this post. 1 year today for me! You lot are making me excited and nervous as I've not even contemplated going dress shopping yet! I'm off to my first wedding fair on Sunday, though, just a little vintage event in Hereford, so that might give me a kick up the bum! (Have the venue and tog booked and thats it!)
