Oh my god! Where do you live?! Mine is only £433 at an approved venue. :/

I didn't realise it would vary so much.

They are such strange rules, I don't understand. You would think, the more notice they have, the better

I see. We are Shrewsbury, Shropshire. And our date is a Friday which makes it a little cheaper I guess.

What date are you in October?

I was surprised how much ours was 490 because I don't exactly live in a great county ..it's more nosh than posh... But there was no issue, if anything they stated they are getting booked up very quickly for 2014..apparently it's a wedding boom..so I'm trying to get in early before the suppliers click on to it and honk the prices up.. The only thing they mentioned about a waiting until after October 2013 was givin notice no more a year in advance

I'm getting married on the 4th October 2014 and I've already done so much I think I will run out of things to do. So far I've booked the venue, ordered my wedding dress, got the bridesmaids dresses, Decided on table decorations (but I'm too scared to put the deposit down in case I change my mind). Ordered some bits to start making table plan and place settings, ordered my favour jars and table no's. I've also had an appointment with the florist but didn't like what she showed me what is in season.

What flowers are the rest of my October brides having?

Its so exciting, I really don't want to run out of things to do.

I also had to start booking and buying to stop me from changing my mind too much :-)

Definitely don't think October 2014 is too early to book a venue, I already have a couple booked in for next Oct, they've got the majority of things ticked off their list, but I think they just want to relax a little bit before the wedding. I think if you're after a particular venue, start as soon as you can! They go so quickly!

Oooo i can join here now, Happy days!

I'm 3rd October, all i have is my venue booked and buying a few little things here and there for decorations.

I cant wait to start dress hunting and its not helping that my mum is trying to convince me to start now.

Well I just sorted flowers, having a mixture of orchids, oriental lily, calla Lily's...looks beautiful!!!

My bargain shoes came from kg in the sale, blue sparkly vivenne Westwood for £59

i was having a choocywoochydoodah cake, however on two occasions now, both personal and commercial event I have found the cake dry and tasted a bit odd...can't quite put my finger on it...but I now can no way justify that amount of money on a cake which tbh ain't all that...the decoration is superb ..but I think that's where it finishes...I get it has to be quite a solid cake to hold the amount to chocolate...but...the cake just ain't good enough.

so back to the drowning board with that..I think I have found a local cake lady she looks pretty amazing and for a 5 tier cake is less than e deposit I would have had to pay for choocywoochydoodah .... I think I'm going to go for something the complete opposite of what I first wanted

Mrs2014 a few people have said that on here, Funky being one of them I think. You are spot on though, their work is amazing. I've had the pleasure of shooting two of them and I stand there for about 10 minutes just looking at them!

Oh and have any of you booked a photographer yet? I've seen someone who I like but I'm not sure if its too early to book. I also don't know how many photographers to look at. If I went through everyone on google I would be going for months.

We are having different purples as its my favourite colour..no Cadbury purple or anything, more lilac etc.

We've booked our TOG, we had a meeting with her and just clicked! I knew we had to have her when we met with another who just made us feel uncomfortable, when I emailed the First Lady back, I had major panic that she would have been booked in the meantime!

These are the type of colours I'm looking at as well as OH really wants a navy suit. They look stunning together fab choice. Im actually considering a blush wedding dress. yet to try any though so may change my mind completely if i look like a blancmange Smiley winking

I'm just starting to look at photographers at the moment. I dont think its too early i was genuinely surprised at how far in advance things get booked up for weddings since starting to plan.

    Hi,

Here are some pictures of what I have/ ideas so far. I don't have too much blush at the moment. Thinking of incorporating it in with the flowers and HTBs tie. (sorry about the distored pictures). Any ideas of how I can incorporate more of the blush and navy?

    Shoes

    Cake

    Venue (Needs to be decorated)

I've still got nothing sorted except the venue. (Package foe ceremony, dj, buffet)

Although I'm possibly changing the civil ceremony to a church now so that will change my plans again.

I know what suits I want but to early to book them, can't try dresses on until I loose more weight, flower girls and bridesmaid are young so will change in size a lot in a year so got to wait closer to the time. Friend is doing our photos.
