Apologies if already a thread on this but I've searched the forum and can't find one. Just wanted to say Hi to anyone else getting married in October 14 and see how plans are coming on. I think I've got a good few things done but may think differently when I see others comments ! Lol. I can't believe how quickly the tracker is counting down, we've been engaged just a year and that has flown by so I expect the next 9 / 10 months will do the same.

So , what have we sorted. Venue booked , Healds Hall Hotel. Everything being held there so includes a lot of things , food , dj etc. Registrar booked and confirmed. Gave notice on Friday 20th December so that should be all sorted in a week or so. Received the paperwork from Registrars re choosing our vows etc , that was exciting. Insurance done. Dress ordered , due in end of March. BMs dresses bought , bargains in the sale at House of Fraser. TOG booked , cake maker chosen but need to come up with some ideas. Been looking at flowers , think I'm going artificial then I can keep them afterwards. Colour scheme Navy / Ivory. Got a couple of Wedding Fairs coming up , one at our venue so that's good. The other one is at Leeds United Football ground. Going to look at suits then I think , my other half not a big suit wearer so think that might be a stressful one. Hire or Buy ?? That's the question. Decided not to book cars , tweaked the budget and decided to stay at the hotel the night before instead , cheaper option ! Lol.

Anyway, sorry to go on. Probably forgotten something we have already done in this list but would be interested to know how everyone else is getting on. I know I have one date twin already , CharlyJack :-)

Everything is paid for us - we are done. The only people to pay are DJ and Photographer who want paying on the day. Church will get paid this weekend.

A big relief now I can tell you. We have even sorted and created our Seating plan ?

    Hi Ladies!

I'm an October bride! My wedding is Saturday 18th October 2014. Been together since March 2006, bought our first house together in March 2012 and got engaged on 25th April 2014 Smiley smile

I didn't see too much point in waiting years for a wedding - seeing as we have been together for 8 years and I never thought it would happen - I thought, lets get in quick and get it organised!

I orered my wedding dress in early May, and was told it was a last minute order so it may come in as late as one week before the wedding...eeeek. We have booked pianist and DJ, ordered cake, booked venue, booked registrar, booked interview with the local council for our marriage license, bought bridesmaid dress, bought brides-man his matching tie, bridesmaids shoes, made our wedding invitations and sent them out.... phew.

    I even dream weddings now!

Would love to hear your ideas on themes, seeing as its October. I wanted autumn with golds and browns but my bridesmaid completely threw me and looked gorgeous in a navy blue satin dress from BHS, so that is what I have gone for. What themes are you all having?

    xx

Hello date twin! We are having an autumn themed wedding but more golds & natural greens than orange. We'll be having toffee apples and mini white pumpkin table centrepieces decorated with gold leaf. We wanted more 'touches' than full on theme so there'll be little rustic bits but still elegant and weddingy if you know what I mean! You sound like you're doing great getting organised like that in a quite short space of time! Wedding planning is so exciting but easy to get carried away if you have too much time to plan so don't blame you cracking on Smiley smile

Welcome to Hitched Hedwig. I'm another 18th October too. You sound very organised.

Fcheeks, your theme sounds lovely. We're having our reception in a barn so we've gone for a rustic theme but it's a hint of a theme rather than full on rustic ... our barn has massive chandeliers and white ceiling drapes so full on rustic wouldn't quite work.

As for whether panic should have set in yet, I hope not and I really hope it stays away as long as possible. I had a minor moment on Friday when I caught sight of a year planner and realised really how close the day actually is, but panic subsided quickly. Just sending out our invitations at the moment and have some rsvps back even before they've all been delivered. It looks like I have organised guests.

Ahhhh your reception sounds stunning! Love the thought of chandeliers in a barn I bet it's absolutely gorgeous and perfect for the time of year. Sounds like your lucky with the rsvps, think we have about 4 back out of 40 and two of them are from parents ha ha xx

I'm an October 4th bride!! I'm getting married in a castle in Scotland which is a self catering property which we have for three nights and four days. Near enough everything is done apart from the food, organising a piper, and the bridesmaid shoes. We have a minister but have to do all the paperwork for this, within three months of the wedding date so it's still early. I've written my invites so need to get them in the post tomorrow! Exciting times!

    Hi Hedwig!

As were getting married on Halloween we are having hints of this in our day including pumpkin soup! We are having a masquerade ball in the evening too.

The navy blue sounds lovely, sounds like your pretty organised too!

Our invitations went out this morning! Can't wait to get the RSVP's to start the table planning. Only big things left to get are the suits for the grooms party and the OH ring. Mine came part of my engagement ring (which I only got the engagement ring 4 weeks ago so am still ultra excited about when I look at it!). We have chosen our readings and 1/2 of the music for the ceremony. One of the Bridesmaid dresses is on hold as she is in Australia and poor girl broke her elbow 3 months ago and is still having to go through operations. I feel so sorry for her so we aren't, obviously, putting any pressure on getting the dress sorted. Food, DJ, my dress, decorations. favours, photography, videographer are all chosen.

I feel very calm like it seems a lot of October brides on this feed are! Definitley loving the whole experience of it. Good luck to everyone! Keep us up to date with all goings on!

    Smiley smile

    FLASH of my completed invitations!

Also in reply to the theme question we aren't actually having any 'Autumn' in the wedding. We were going to but when we saw the florist we changed our minds. My dress is champagne colour with a lovely 'old' lace and the theme is now rotating around that.....more of a vintage theme. So we are having chocolate browns, golds and champagnes.

Hi all October brides :-) especially my twins ( making us triplets ! ) Lol.

Sounds like everyone is very organised. Think I've done a few more things since last post , ordered suits ( we're hiring ) so all measured up for them. Just need to take little one a month before as he's only going to be 18 month and they grow so quickly. Flowers arrived , really pleased with them. I've bought all my bits to do centrepieces, not the most artistic but was fairly happy with trial , just needs a few tweaks. 2 of my bridesmaids have their shoes , other one having flats as she's very tall. I've attached a pic as I love these shoes. One of them is same size as me so hoping she'll let me borrow them after the wedding !

Going to Portugal in just over a week with the girls. Was going to make it my hen party but not a lot of people could make it. But there's 5 of us going so will be having a 'mini hen night' while we're there :-) Make up trial a couple of weeks after we get back so looking forward to that too. My bridesmaid is getting married next year and I'm going dress shopping with her in July. Loving the planning and when mines all done I can help her with hers :-)

Hi date twin and all October brides ! Where is the time going. I've been very relaxed through all the planning and think I'm quite organised but everytime I look at the ticker I can't believe how fast it's moving ! Think I'm going to have a look at my lists etc at the weekend and see what I should be doing next !

My RSVP deadline was the end of June and we've had quite a lot back but not all of them. Quite disappointed as the most I have missing are my family ! Some of them are fussy eaters and as they're not getting a choice of food they've not decided. Even though we're not having children at the wedding ( apart from my grandson ) I've asked the hotel if they can do an adult sized childs meal for fussy eaters. And they've said it won't be a problem. Others have children so think that's why they've not replied but not changing our wedding to suit them.

Anyway , apart from that just had a lovely break in Portugal with the girls. We had a 'Hen Night' on the Saturday night. They'd had t-shirts printed , I had a feather boa , balloons. Had a really good night even though only 5 of us ! Got in at around 4 in the morning only to find my bed filled with little wedding sprinkly bits ! Lol.

Make up Trial coming up in a couple of weeks so hope that goes well.

How's everyone else getting on ??

How's everyone getting on? Less than 3 months to go

for the 11th October brides! Don't think I've done much since the 4 month to go mark. My get up and go has got up and gone. Invites are packaged and ready to go this week. Best man had his suit fitting last week and my dad and bro are getting fitted next weekend, I have to take my other brothers measurements as he lives in Oz. We have booked our pre wedding shoot for end of August and I still need to book my makeup trial. Finally ordered my wedding shoes so with getting dyed, they will be another 3 weeks. My beautiful headband is finally finished and being sent next week and I've started thinking about the thank you gifts. Xx

11th October too!! So still need to do a table plan when some people get their finger out and send RSVPs back (this winds me up as deadline was end of June)

Have yet to finish table decorations and start on place cards, still waiting for bridesmaid dress to come in (only have 1 bridesmaid) men's outfits still to be sorted.

Most importantly to get notice put in with registrar once I receive OH birth certificate ( getting married in Scotland)

hmmm... Now I think about it still got a fair bit to do!!!

96 days to go for the 17th october brides! Have now got my silk flowers. they are beautiful, and just sending out my evening invites. had one of the evening guests message me on fb asking if her son could bring his gf (we had invited her, her son and daughter) so i said i will look at the numbers in sept when the rsvps are due back. She proceeded to ask if she could have a plus one, just in case she has met someone lol. i just said er well as i said i will check the numbers! bit cheeky!

hope all of you getting on well! xx

I had 'the call' from the bridal shop in the week and was able to try my dress on yesterday. Eeeek, it's all beginning to feel very real. I also bought a beautiful hair vine yesterday so I've got a much better idea for hairstyles now. RSVPs due by this time next week ... everything is beginning to come together :-)

As I am on the 31st Oct I have a few more days then most of you, its going quick isn't it!! I need to make the centre pieces next, torn between ribbon topiary trees or just some Ikea candle/glass type piece. Oh and I need to order our masks for the masquerade ball in the evening Smiley laugh

Any October brides going to wear a jacket? I'm thinking about getting something to wear as you never know what the weather is going to be!

Hi All , well where is the time going !! I think I'm starting to get a bit scared now as it seems to be coming round very fast.

Me and the BM's had our make up trials with Airess last weekend. All really pleased with it and we had a lovely day , lots of bubbles then out on the town to show off our new looks.

Just trying to firm up our day no.s now so we can start looking at table plans and send out night invites. Don't feel like I've done very much lately and now seem to think there's lots left and I need to get moving ! Time for a list check I think !!

How's everyone else doing , anyone else starting to feel it's flying by ??

I have just 68 days to go too. Its coming around SO quickly. We ordered our cake yesterday and seem to be back on track after a wee glitch earlier in the week where our minister pulled out as she needs hip surgery. Luckily we have found a new minister. My hen weekend is next weekend, there are 10 of us going to Manchester. I am really looking forward to it!

Invitations are out and RSVPs are trickling in. Evening invitations to go out this week.

    Hi Girls!!

I was really hoping to get to know some other October Brides as we're all in it together, as it were ... back when I first joined hitched I thought to myself, oh I'll get to know them all over time .... AND NOW OCTOBER IS HURTLING TOWARDS US AT THE SPEED OF LIGHTNING and I've still not said hi properly!!

I'll start by doing a little 'get to know you' questionnaire for us!!

    I'M GETTING MARRIED TO:

    I'M GETTING MARRIED ON:

    I'M GETTING MARRIED IN:

    MY WEDDING STYLE IS:

    OUR GUESTS ARE:

    I AM MOST EXCITED ABOUT:

    I AM MOST SCARED ABOUT:

I STILL HAVE TO SORT OUT:

    I'll start!!

I'M GETTING MARRIED TO: A lady! She's very lovely and we've been together three years, she proposed on 5th Oct 2013 ...

I'M GETTING MARRIED ON: 5th October 2014 (54 days to go!!!) well, technically we're going to the registry office on 1st October, just the two of us, going to grab some witnesses off the street, and then going straight from the reg office to the airport...

I'M GETTING MARRIED IN: Spain! In the garden of an old converted mill in the mountains with sea views

MY WEDDING STYLE IS: Relaxed and informal, we've written the ceremony ourselves and included as many people in the ceremony as we can. We are having Tapas and Live music in the evening, no first dance, no seating plans, just lots of food and drink and merriment.

OUR GUESTS ARE: very close friends and family, approx. 50 of them

I AM MOST EXCITED ABOUT: the whole week! I'm going on holiday with 50 people I love!! We have so much lovely stuff planned all around the wedding day too.

I AM MOST SCARED ABOUT: anything going wrong. I'm not good at coping with things going wrong.

I STILL HAVE TO SORT OUT: Loads of little bits and bobs. I need to do a list. We've still not decided about a cake!!!

I like it :-) so here i go...

I'M GETTING MARRIED TO: My lovely partner, father of my 3 year old and best friend

I'M GETTING MARRIED ON: 3rd October (52 days to go..eeeekk!)

I'M GETTING MARRIED IN: A beautiful hall in Northumberland

MY WEDDING STYLE IS: Not really got a style, a bit vintage with a hint of classy

OUR GUESTS ARE: Our close family and a few friends as only having 50 guests but everyone else at our reception at the night time

I AM MOST EXCITED ABOUT: Seeing everyone all dressed up and having a good time, and seeing both families get together and meet each other

I AM MOST SCARED ABOUT: Wearing my dress, as i am not a dressy person and live in jeans and jumpers, so wearing heels, a dress, makeup and jewellery infront of everyone scares the hell out me. They wont recognise me

I STILL HAVE TO SORT OUT: Booked most things and think im sorted but still stressing about all the little details
