Apologies if already a thread on this but I've searched the forum and can't find one. Just wanted to say Hi to anyone else getting married in October 14 and see how plans are coming on. I think I've got a good few things done but may think differently when I see others comments ! Lol. I can't believe how quickly the tracker is counting down, we've been engaged just a year and that has flown by so I expect the next 9 / 10 months will do the same.

So , what have we sorted. Venue booked , Healds Hall Hotel. Everything being held there so includes a lot of things , food , dj etc. Registrar booked and confirmed. Gave notice on Friday 20th December so that should be all sorted in a week or so. Received the paperwork from Registrars re choosing our vows etc , that was exciting. Insurance done. Dress ordered , due in end of March. BMs dresses bought , bargains in the sale at House of Fraser. TOG booked , cake maker chosen but need to come up with some ideas. Been looking at flowers , think I'm going artificial then I can keep them afterwards. Colour scheme Navy / Ivory. Got a couple of Wedding Fairs coming up , one at our venue so that's good. The other one is at Leeds United Football ground. Going to look at suits then I think , my other half not a big suit wearer so think that might be a stressful one. Hire or Buy ?? That's the question. Decided not to book cars , tweaked the budget and decided to stay at the hotel the night before instead , cheaper option ! Lol.

Anyway, sorry to go on. Probably forgotten something we have already done in this list but would be interested to know how everyone else is getting on. I know I have one date twin already , CharlyJack :-)

Hi All , thought I'd join in the introductions. I know we've been chatting for a while and all our days are coming round so fast. We went to the venue last night to ask some questions, see what they need when and it suddenly all seemed more real ! Appointment booked for 7th September to go back and give them all the details etc. Now I feel there's lot to do and time running away , but it will all get done :-)

I'M GETTING MARRIED TO: A lovely man called Graham. We've been together 8 years , met on the Internet and never looked back.

I'M GETTING MARRIED ON: 17th October 2014 , 9 weeks on Friday , into single figure weeks !

I'M GETTING MARRIED IN: Liversedge at a lovely little hotel called Healds Hall. Loved it the first time I saw it and was the right place for us.

MY WEDDING STYLE IS: Didn't think we really had a style as just wanted to choose the things we liked. But I suppose it's turning out quite traditional in a lot of ways , ivory and navy colour scheme , quite plain , simple roses , nothing too way out. Some would say boring but we like it. .

OUR GUESTS ARE: About a third family , the rest friends. We're an older bride and groom so not lots of family around unfortunately.

I AM MOST EXCITED ABOUT: Going to the venue the day before with the girls , organising , then relaxing. Getting ready in the morning and then walking down the aisle to see Graham's face.

I AM MOST SCARED ABOUT: People not enjoying themselves and the evening just trailing off early. Think I need to get some young one's invited to keep the party going !

I STILL HAVE TO SORT OUT: Same as most really , lots of little things. Just in the process of sorting BM's gifts / shirts to wear on the morning / socks for the boys !

I'M GETTING MARRIED IN: Clitheroe, a beautiful 17th century stone barn.

OUR GUESTS ARE: 50/50 split of friends and family during the day. 50daytime and an additional 50 on the night

I AM MOST EXCITED ABOUT: seeing my daughter be a flower girl, she will steal the show I am sure Smiley smile

I AM MOST SCARED ABOUT: crying too much on the day and all the photos will come out with me looking like an emotional wreck!

Hi Ladies , how's it all going ? Time moving on very fast now. Feel like I've accomplished a little more this weekend. Me and OH have managed to sort out our music / song choices today. So just need to sort out the disc ready for the day. And hope none of the choices are rejected by the Registrars when we send the forms off.

Have decided on place settings / favours. Going for something that's 2 in one. It's a personalised key ring that sits on a stand for the place setting then you can take it away.

Also booked our honeymoon. We love the Lakes and haven't been for years so we're having 4 days in Windermere at the Hawksmoor Guest House. Looks really nice , a bit of luxury and it's no. 1 B & B on Trip Advisor.

Also had an idea for our Table Plan. OH loves rugby so thinking of something along tables as players from his favourite team. My brother is in printing and am thinking he might be able to put on a canvas for me.

So feel as if things coming together a bit more now. I just needed to get the OH moving and put in his thoughts !

Hope to hear how everyone else is doing x

39 days to go!! I can't believe I've started all the final beauty prep stuff now, started on the sun beds, need to book a shellac soon to make sure my nails don't break between now and the big day, have an appointment for contact lens trial next week as I'd love to be able to wear contacts on the day so I can see everything (I can cope without my specs but would prefer not to be squinting on the day!!) and need to book in for laser teeth whitening.

Urgh, I sound like a proper bimbo!

I really can't believe how quick the weeks are passing!!

Yes its coming round so fast now!

Bridesmaid dress fitting this weekend - it needs taking up and possibly in, so allowing 2 weeks for that.

Taking my dress down to seamstress later on this month as theres a slight adjustment needed with the straps.

Need shoes for my son and step son to be, my son is giving me away and step son is OHs best man.

Also need jewellery for bridesmaids and flower girl.

    Def getting excited now!! xx

Oh my !! I hadn't even realised that this morning. We ARE getting married next month ! I'm that busy counting down in weeks , 6 weeks on Friday , not even thought of it being next month ! Lol.

Sounds like everyone quite organised. I've got BM dress fittings on Saturday and me and OH meeting with the venue on Sunday. All seems very real all of a sudden. I think we reached a milestone moment at the weekend. OH was putting our music on disc and said to me ' I think I might cry when you walk in as I've just filled up listening to the song when I put it on the disc'. I think it's finally hit him that he's getting married and it hasn't all just being me having fun and looking at wedding stuff !!

I'm also at a wedding fair on Sunday , not for me but for one of my BM. She's getting married in April next year so helping her with things and passing on advice.

Hair trial on Wednesday when I have my usual 6 week cut ( with colour this time ). So I can try it with varying lengths. I only have short hair anyway so it's just deciding how short or how much to leave on when I have the one before the wedding.

SillyWrong - you must be one of the first October brides , how exciting :-)

    xx

Hi All , how's it going :-) Time is so flying by now , think I need to slow the ticker down ! Had a manic week at work this last week and something on every night so feeling a bit drained and shattered. Need to stop and have a breather as I think these next 6 weeks are going to fly by !

Had my hair trial last week , wasn't sure if I was going to have her come to the venue as my hair is so short but decided I better had in case it won't go right and I have a meltdown. No point paying for make up etc and then having a strop when my hair isn't right.

Took the BMs for their dress fittings yesterday. Just a few alterations. We didn't buy them from where I got my dress from but they are doing the alterations and will keep them and press them so we can pick up with mine the day before. So that's really good. Tried mine on again as only minor alteration so going back on the 29th for my fitting.

Meeting with the venue this afternoon. Quite scary seeing it all coming together now but it is so that's good.

Still a few things to sort , table plan to do although the venue said they can do one if we don't have one. We're attempting our own but at least I know we have an option if it doesn't work out. My jewellery still to sort , dropping my engagement ring off on the 27th for cleaning etc so I'm going to have a look then and get something.

Feels like we've achieved quite a lot now I look back on this and my list :-) Very excited ! xx

yes i think you are the first october bride Katie! yes got loads to do too

We had our venue meeting last thursday, definately made it more real and exciting.

Seems to be coming very fast now, was meant to take my step daughter to be for alterations on her bridesmaids dress yesterday, it was our weekend to have OHs kids but his ex threw a hissy fit for some reason and said the kids couldnt come, so that was that, even i texted her nicely myself and told her about the dress appointment but no she still refused to let her come. We only have them every other weekend so time is of the essence now to get alterations done, but she has agreed to let them come this weekend instead. Think she just wants to cause us some stress lol xx

Hm .. Well we're actually getting married at the reg office on Wednesday 1st then boarding the plane for Spain and having our ceremony on the 5th! The 5th is our 'proper' wedding day though so yes you're the first Smiley smile

I know what you mean about it creeping up, I can't believe it's only weeks away now, I go from mad excitement one minute to feeling like my stomach has dropped through the floor the next!

I haven't even been for a fitting yet! My dress is currently about a foot too long and needs taking in a bit! Going for measuring on Saturday!! I kept putting the fitting off because I wanted to lose more weight!!!

    Hi all October brides

well I'm an October the 4th bride and I can't believe how quickly it's all coming around.

i tried on my wedding dress the other day and it fits like a glove. I don't even need it taking up either. So I'm just having a loop on the train so I can tie it up at the night time.

The bridesmaid shoes arrived after quite a search. My two daughters are bridesmaids and my youngest has skinny feet, so it's always a chore finding shoes that fit. But amazingly Next Wedding online had the perfect shoes and they fitted. She tried on all of her outfit which I'd never seen together before and me and my future hubby promptly burst into tears!

im still waiting for a quote for the food. I'm getting married in a castle but it's a self catering one, so I've had to do it all myself. A friend of mine, who owns a restaurant is doing my food, but thinks he can tell me at the last minute, how much it's all going to cost ..... Not good! I need to know! So hopefully that will get sorted this week.

we managed to book a last minute honeymoon the other day so we are off to Turkey for 10 days, staying in a lovely boutique hotel. I've never been to Turkey before so I hope it's ok.

And this Friday sees the start of my hen weekend. I'm sssoooooo excited. Me and 7 friends and family are off to STOBO Castle health spa in Peebles. I just can't wait to sit in my dressing gown all weekend and be pampered! Will sure help with all he stress!

good luck to everyone. Hope all the planning continues to go well

Well, the thing on the 1st is just dotting i's and crossing t's, it's just the two of us, we're going to grab some witnesses off the street, we've asked the reg office for no vows, no promises, no rings etc, just paperwork. Most people coming to Spain don't realise that what we're doing out there isn't the legal bit (we have a minister for the blessing) - and the 5th will always be our wedding anniversary! Smiley smile

Really, we're just stretching our wedding out as far as we can!!! ?
