October/November/December 2011 Brides/Grooms

pinkypie8, 8 March, 2011 at 21:08 Posted on Planning 0 13

Just being nosey really wondered where everyone was up to? Thought i'd extend it over a few months so applies to a few more people.

I'm 26th November and have hit that lull where all the big stuff is done and booked and it's too early really to do the smaller stuff...having said that we are going to get our rings on Saturday and i am SO excited!!

Erm few reasons, 1 venue doing an off season deal which saved us loads of money, 2 even if you get married in the summer in England you can't guarentee the weather anyway, 3 I love those cold crisp days when the sky is blue and the leaves have gone reds and oranges (i'm hoping for cold and crisp) and November was by default the deal the venue offered was October November December, the dates in October we sort of halloween time and didn't want a halloween themed wedding and didn't really want a christmas themed wedding so sort of got to 26th November and it stuck.

As much as i wish it was sooner i love the fact that its that time of year as if we get the right day our venue is going to look amazing.

    I'm 26th November too.

My dress will be in the shop next month - WOO!

Rings should be ready this week sometime, waiting to hear from Smooch.

Next job is sourcing the Men's suits.. But I'm struggling to find exactly what I want! (I know, H2B should have a say in this but my word is final haha).

Bridesmaid dresses should have been posted either today or tomorrow so they will be here in a matter of days. Fingers crossed they fit my BMs else it's back to the drawing board.

The only other thing I need to do is decide what my Niece will be wearing as my Flowergirl..

We'r getting married 8th October and have got most of the big stuff sorted. We're having to have a hit list of jobs to sort out month by month due to my job taking me away for 2 weeks a month.

This leave will be meeting the Best Man and getting him measured for his shirts and suit, loooking at cars and trying to decide on the rings before the price goes up too much again.

I'm in need of a big meeting with MOH to organise other stuff as well. I've done a lot of research whilst at work, and just need to do the footwork when I'm off.

Saving money was good reason for us. I'm hoping for the classic weather as the photographs will be awesome in the gardens we have at the venue. Here's to hoping the weather is perfect on both weekends!! Whats your colour theme?

We've gone ivory and burgundy however because of my dress my official theme is ivory burgundy and diamontes. The flowers are very autumny (is that a word?!) as i have burgundy roses bridesmaids are wearing burgundy with ivory roses, diamontes throughout but all other flowers table centres etc are like autunm foliage and berries with the occasional flower for colour but the foliage is burgundy to and then table centres and candles with flowers round the base. There is a huge open fireplace which will be lit and then because the room is a 12th century hall the ceilings are so high, but i wanted low table centre pieces so everyone could see each other, on the window sills and stood up the sides of the fire we are having balloons (yes i know i am swearing at some hitchers) but not those huge balloon arches just like collections of three, i needed to add some height and didn't want tall flower arrangements.

How about everyone else colour schemes? Are you staying with autumn colours or not bothering?

Sounds gorgeous, we have gone with Oranges, Chocolate Browns and Dark Green foliage. Flowers are berries, and twigs (sounds odd but looks stunning). Place names cards are dried leaves which have been brush with some chemical that keeps them strong and name then written on. Table decorations are all about waling through a forest in autumn some quite flat and on slabs of wood with fruits, berries and leaves. I cant wait to see it all together...

We're on purple and silver and white. Purple is our favourite colour. My dress is purple and OH is wearing a silver grey suit with lilac shirt and purple tie.

We're having 3 balloons on the tables to break the height, as our recption is in the banqueting hall at the Guildhall. No balloon arch though.
