Off for a fitting...

GeordieBarbie, 7 November, 2009 at 12:34 Posted on Planning 0 12

... of the bra variety!

My Mam's been harping on at me to get measure properly as she's recently gone down a bust size from a 38 to a 34 and since I wear a 34 - she doesn't beloieve I can possibly be a 34 too!

So i've finally bit the bullet and booked myself in to get measure - for the first time ever!

My best mate has just texted to say she's just been done and is now a D cup from a B cup (granted - she's up-duffed but still!)

Ii did try and do it myself and it put me up 2 cup sizes!! I swear they've changed the sizing!

This should be fun (I don't like my tiny boobs and never wear a bra without some sort of padding - the more the better!) Haha!

Where are you going? If it's M&S I would cancel because they are the crapest of the crap! ?.

Good luck - I want to go to Bravissimo but can't afford it at the moment!

Oh and going down a back size makes you go up a cup size too.

AND the actual measurments mean nothing! They are a guide but a good bra fitter will fit to you as everyone's boobs are different, they should go by fitting the bra not teling you a size IYSWIM.

I am a 30 E/F but when M&S measured me they got it totally wrong and didn't fit me at all - total rubbish!

    Nikki

La senza is a good place to go for measuring your bra size, we also have a small local shop close to us who are pretty good but i stopped going there as they started charging £5 for fitting (which they did take off the price of the bra if you bought from there) because they had loads of people going in to get measured and then going to cheaper stores. So smaller local shops can be a good place to try also x

Debenhams are good for fittings too, loads of BTers have said how rubbish m&s are in the past. If there is a shop nearby I'd go for a second opinion and see if there is a difference if I were you, there's nothing worse that a badly fitted bra, especially if you have small boobs.

I was very small (30B which is the same as a 32A) and badly fitting does nothing for you (well it didn't for me anyway ?)

Hope it went ok, I'm another that has a low opinion of M&S. I usually wear a 32f but go up to a 34 e with some styles. They told me I was a 38c, the woman brought one for me to try and I fell straight out of the bottom!!!lol

I wear whatever is comfortable and sits properly

I've used La Senza in the past for my bra fittings - would def recommend them

Heres a questions for you all - am I the only person that can't get M&S bras to fit them??? I'm either really weird or the bras are but they just seem a really unatural shape for me - I don't own a M&S bra at all

Well... my first ever bra fitting!

Had my appt at M&S and thendecided to pop into La Senza and Debenhams too - just to compare.

And there was a clear winner... M&S!!!

By far the best advise. She immediately looked at me and said I wasn't and A and explained why and then put me in some B's and they fit!

So i've had breast enlargement today without the pain or cost! ?

oh and congrats on your expanding bazookas!! whats your secret?? although i dont really need bigger ones just need to find a way of stopping them dragging along the floor!!!

I think a lot of the time it depends on the experience of the person doing the fitting. I went have been to La senza, debenhams, M&S, Bravissimo and John Lewis. La senza tried to cram me in a 32C, Debenhams were good but were a little too busy and prob wouldn't use them again. M&S put me in a 40E, measured under bust and added 5 for some reason (34 measurement, add 5 to take it to 39) and John Lewis didn't measure me just asked me to take my top off and the looked at them and said 'right I'll be back in a min' she came back said try that on and then told me it was a 34FF !!! She was shocked at how wrong the other places had got it and told me that she had been trained by bravissimo and they don't use measurements. I went to bravissimo a few weeks later and they confirmed that same measurements at John Lewis.

I couldn't get over the fact at how high my boobs were in the right fitting bra ?

Going from an A to B is a whole cup size !!!
