I think Rex was trying to do a double-bluff. He keeps saying if he doesn't go then he is loved. He doesn't seem to understand that people could dislike BBBelinda x3 (or whoever he is up against) more than they dislike him. I think he's doing a big show about wanting to leave so people keep him in IYSWIM? I do find him funny though. I was laughing when he first said something to Rachel but he kept on so it wasn't funny anymore by the end of it - it was just mean. He just doesn't care what he says to people. But I'd rather watch him than Mikey, Sara, Mo and Darnell. They're horrid little people.
