Oh no! I've upset my friend.

LittleStar, 28 November, 2008 at 12:08 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 6

Chap at work tells me that his wife's just called him to say that Russell Brand is playing our local venue. My card has £0 available on it, so I call OH at work and ask him to book them sharpish before they sell out. He's WAY too busy. Chap at work offers to get them on his card & I pay him Monday. Accept gratefully.

Friend at work who sits in the next room comes in 10 minutes later to announce that RB is playing. Looks hurt when chap & I say we've already got tickets. Sh1t, sh1t, sh1t. I totally forgot how much she likes RB.

I go into her room and apologise. She says it's OK but still looks hurt. Sh1t, sh1t, sh1t.

Don't want to labour the point coz it was a genuine mistake, but should I buy her a Wispa?

Has it sold out, can she not get her own tickets? OK, so she wouldn't be sitting with you but if she went with a mate then it's not really a problem.

She'll get her own tickets, it's not sold out yet. Probably will do soon though.

That's not the point - I feel really bad that I forgot how much she likes him. She's gutted that his show isn't on R2 anymore.

Last year there was a big hoo-ha over practically the entire office booking Mighty Boosh tickets. I think she thought it was a bit like that, and had been left out. None us will be sitting together - all the tickets have been bought individually for/by each couple.

In that case I think she is being a bit sulky!

I think she's being abit sulky too. Buy the wispa and eat it yourself.

I've already had one today ?

Ok, I'll stop beating myself up over it and get on with some work ? No-one else told her either, and there wasn't a big announcement she missed out on - one guy told me and one other guy, and we all bought tickets straightaway. We're going for lunch soon, I'm sure she'll be OK then.
