Oh Pronovias! Why did I look?!!

Flickerty, 1 November, 2011 at 20:25 Posted on Planning 0 4

Not sure how to post pictures but i tried on Baile by Pronovias at the weekend, fell in love, then stupidly looked at the price tag AFTER I'd tried it on... £1400!!! TUT. This is a bit of a pointless post really but just thought i'd have a rant. As it's from the 2012 collection and I get married next June (!!) I don't suppose anyone has any bright ideas on how i can get this dress any cheaper? To make things worse, I got my OH to flick through the Pronovias catalogue earlier and he commented on how nice the Baile dress was (without knowing I had tried it on).

Is there anyway you could sell some stuff on Ebay and use the funds to pay for your dress? Or cut down on something else in the wedding and use the money for the dress?

OH and i sold stuff we don't need anymore on Ebay to pay for our fireworks display. It didn't cover the total cost, but we did save enough to cover just under half which made it affordable!

Beautiful dress Flickerty! I'm having a Pronovias dress but I'm not getting it from their flagship store. I've gone to an independent shop instead where it was about £200 cheaper. A friend of mine had Fiona by Pronovias and she got hers down to £900 with a veil and alterations included at an independent shop. Baile looks like similar material to Pronovias so I'd have a call around other stockists and see if you can get a better price...

I got my pronovias dress from a Wedding Warehouse place in Leeds - it wasn't current season but I ended up with an £1800 dress for £500. They're incredibly good quality and I can see why they cost what they do.
