Older BMs - how old is too old?

essex_charlene, 12 February, 2012 at 20:42 Posted on Planning 0 14

One of my best friends is 50 (I'm 26) I really want her as a BM and I know she'd love to do it. What are your opinions? X

Go for it!! It she's one of your best friends it doesn't matter how old she is.

One thought is that if you are having all other younger bridesmaids, she may not feel comfortable wearing the same dress, in case she feels like she looks out of place or it doesn't suit?

    :-) x

If she wants to do it then go for it! I'm 24 and one of my best mates is 42 and a bridesmaid, she was so honoured to be asked, a little bit nervous about being up there in front of lots of people but was over the moon to be asked. I agree with vickydrip, you do need to take extra care with dresses, but you might be able to find something that suits everyone or have different dresses but same colour.

I don't think it matters to be honest. If you want her ask her.

2 of my bridesmaids will be 47 and 49, its about having the people who are important to you, age is immaterial

Age doesn't matter. Its how you feel.

Go with your heart and what you want.
