Hi Nicky1980 - you are my date twin

I posted on here a few days ago about our twin date..

I think we are going for similar colour theme too. I am having cadbury purple but I'm having my dress made in this colour. 12 yr old BM in lilac and purple, FGs iin White with purple and then having white and silver and purple i think at the reception

Lou... I havent even ordered invites.. will be doing some soon. Saw some on pureinvitation.co.uk we liked but since then have seen some others by HIBs on here which are nice.. but will be ordering soon. When do invites go out anyway??

    Hi Ashlil!

I didn't see it till the day after! Sorry!

Yes we are in the same colour! I did consider having my dress in the colour but I've settled for my shoes in that colour instead ?

My bridesmaids are in the purple as well.

What part of the country are you getting married in? I'm half expecting snow as we're in west yorkshire and it does generally snow at the beginning of February.

The main thing I'm trying to decide is what to wear to keep me warm? We'll only possibly be out for a bit for photos in the afternoon but if it does snow in the evening we may end up outside for a bit? Whate are you wearing?

Also, I live and get married in Hampshire.. but this year we had snow in February so suspect we could again, which will be nice for photos!!! but guess alot will be in doors, and we are not travelling to the place, we get ready there.

the lady is making me a chiffon matching wrap - same as the material from dress as the dress is satin with chiffon overlay.

but thinking of fake faux for the BM and FG's possibly and maybe something for me but not sure yet as we aren't travelling as such - which makes the difference.

have you got anything to flash??

    Well.....

Venue....althugh won't look quite like this is February!

Bridesmaids dresses - they both chose themselves - they had free reign and chose the same, there's a bit of sparkle around the top! Not sure about flower girl yet but probably debenhams or BHS.

My shoes which I love a lot!

Your dress is gorgeous - I really like the detail on the waist! I ahven't got a pic of my dress because I've never been able to find one online! Its crushed taffeta in Ivory with a cathedral train and corset back but I'm not sure how else to describe it!!

I'm considering having a purple cloak made as I've always fancied one but I'm not sure as its more money and I may hardly wear it - at least I'll wear my dress all day!! We're all getting ready at the venue as well. Your venue looks stunning as well!

My sister lives in Hampshire but her baby is due five days after the wedding so more than likely won't be able to come which is quite sad - but really exciting as its her first little one!!

Aww love your venue too.. both pics are in the summer but not going to be like that at all are they?

    never mind.

What have you got planned for the venue/reception - are you going wintery or not? I wanted to but as its both our 2nd marriages not going mad and too formal - so dropped that idea.

but think the venue will be nice and cosy anyway.

I like your invites on your profile pic x - did you make?

you can see my email address if you need me, also I'm on here or lurking most days.. V.Addictive..!!!

Thanks! Thats really kind! I'm generally on in the evening as I'm 'working from home' today. Thats shouldn't be in inverted commas but I'm struggling to concentrate!!

I'd always loved the idea of getting married by candle light but have decided that will be too complicated and maybe harder for photos etc. Its going to be simple during the ceremony with flowers on the registrars table. When we've been to wedding fayre's OH has really liked simple table so we've combined place cards with favours and menus with table numbers. A kind of theme we've got gogin is photos -the table names will be our parents and grandparetns wedding photos and each place name will have their own picture on it that relates to us in some way.

Like yours I think the venue will be cosy anyway - there's cocktail bar as a little extra room that will have a log fire in! Which 'll be lovely for some wintery pictures!

My profile pic is our engagement invites - my sister makes wedding stationery so she made them and a good friend designed the front as we got engaged after a hot balloon ride. We're quite lucky to know creative people neither of us are traditionally creative!! I'm going to visit my sister in Portsmouth this time next week to make our invites!

Are having favours etc on your tables have you got any kind of theme as well as the colour?

    Hiya,

My cake picture is 5 layers of Cheese..!! Cheddar at the bottom and others through - decs will be grapes and leaves and a personalised wedding cake topper too. I got some purple ribbon to go around too, but not sure how it will look. but cost £185 and both our families are big cheese eaters and its our 2nd so non traditional - and me and OH are the only ones that know about this. Lots of people know about the dress colour.

still thinking about table layouts. I bought some runners in purple material, linen from venue is white and silver crockery etc. but we arent have traditional top table etc as there is only 27 of us we are going to have 3 or 4 round tables and planning for OH and me to circulate around each course..! menus, and table numbers not even thought of. But thought of something along the lines of favourite restaurants or quirky pics of us holding numbers, which I've seen someone else and looks effective. Favours got some personalised chocolate from bay of e, want to get some "The Purple One" from Quality street, but been looking at the seed paper favours too 39p each and look great. No theme as such to be honest!!

Centerpieces are going to be something similiar to below

That cake is amazing!!!! I must admit we're massive cheese fans as well in our families and if I was at your wedding I'd be very impressed! lol! Thats an amazing idea!

Our favours are going to be sweets that represent Love, health, wealth etc in a little jar as H2B loves sweets as well as cheese!!

I really liek your centrepieces - we looked at them but decided to go with martinin glasses as the ceilings are really high in the room and we'd seen some pics of them there that looked nice.

I reallt like your table numbers idea -thats quite different and really personal to you both! Those kind of things also give people a talking point as well. I'd not thought about adding table runners which would be nice to tie in the colour theme!

I'm really looking forward to hearing how the cheese cake goes down! I hope there's some seriously stinky one's in there!!!! hmmmmmmm!? Its making me fancy some now!!!
