OMG - Me and my big mouth!

The Sock Chicken, 7 December, 2008 at 20:49 Posted on Planning 0 15

Me and h2b were just watching an old Don't tell the Bride on BBC 3 right now (one I havent seen). And it got to the bit where the bride goes to get her dress and OMG I am 991/2% certain that is my dress. And I got all excited and emotional and started going oh my god, i cant believe it! So now my h2b knows what my dress looks like and got all arsey and wont let me watch the end! Lets just hope he forgets what it looks like by our big day.

Oh dear... I hate to say it but I think it is your dress, I just flicked the tv over to see - it is beautiful! Just remember it will lokk different on you, different hair colour, accessories, body shape etc. He's a man - he'll soon forget what it looked like, don't worry!

Now you know why my username is zippy!! He went and made me a cuppa and I flicked over to see the end and it is definitely my dress. He's ok now though, he says I am lucky as he is unlikely to remember it, although he did say her boobs looked enormous in it!!!

    Sorry zippy, but ?

I've never seen my dress on DTTB, but I did see the one I almost bought (a gorgeous Alfred Angelo dress that I fell in love with when looking online, and only decided against when they showed me the bustle in the shop) and did exactly what you did. I'm sure I'd have opened my big mouth if I had seen my actual dress. I didn't like the bride who was in my almost dress, so I was very glad we weren't dress twins!

Oops! I'm sure it looks very different on you anyway. I showed H a picture of mine in a mag before I knew I was getting it (just while browsing at dresses) he said it was hideous and awful etc but I bought it anyway and he often remarked about the hideous one we'd seen ages ago and then I turned up on the day in it ?

You know at least he cares, and is bothered about the tradition!! My other half really couldnt care less at the minute. He keeps saying "its your day do what you want!" Charming!

    Similar situation.

OH was sat with me last night and I was flicking through and the thread "dress question" came up so I clicked, scrolled down and my face dropped. Me and Kelly070209 have got the same dress.

OH asked what was the matter, and I just tried to shrug it off and said nothing, just reading and then he wanted to see, so I had to show it him.

So he has send my dress now, but hasn't a clue is mine. If you get me.

Zippy and Snowbunny I wouldn't worry because your h2b's won't remember. My h2b has seen a picture of me in my dress twice now but he obviously doesn't remember because he keeps telling me he hates sparkly dresses and mine is mega sparkly.

At the time I was gutted but now I'm not fussed because a picture is totally different from how it will look on the day. I do want to punch him every time he says he doesn't like sparkly dresses but I just go along with him now.

    Oh I wouldn't worry.

If my OH had any kind of decent imagination I'm sure he could guess what mine looks like, I've talked about it forgetting that he doesn't know. I'm just not used to having a secret from him.

Like everyone else has said on the day it will be completely different.

THanks everyone you have reassured me. I do think its quite funny, I am terrible with secrets! I was so annoyed today when my work colleagues told me I have created bad luck and should cancel my dress and find another one, and then I said thats the one I love and the only one I have seen! To which the response is "you have 2 yrs to find another one" actually its 1yr 8months!! ?

Oh heck. as everyone said he`s a man and he really won`t remember. Plus it`ll look totally different (and much better!) on you. I did a similar thing-I had my dress on the desktop (doh) and it somehow ended up in glorious technicolour on the computer screen when H switched it on one day-he was really angry! Not to mention all the pictures I had in my drawers, and the drawers where we keep all the bills etc....!!

I was at my friends house once and her dress was on DTTB, we both noticed it but luckily her H2b didn't and we tried to keep as calm as possible.
