Wedding in 22nd June 2013 , so there is no rush to find one, feel a bit daft now for having got myself in such a state TBH. I mean seriously after 15 dress shops the dress must have had alot going for it for me to put a deposit on it in the first place,

I have to say that like some of the others I also prefer the one you've bought (but maybe that's also cos I've also got a Ronald Joyce dress!), its such a lovely structured dress and the detail is lovely. I also think that taffeta moves really nicely when you walk and I know that my dress makes me feel like a princess because of the taffeta. I'm now looking at your dress with a fair bit of envy but I've only got 11 days left so it's definitely too late to change my mind! LOL.

I felt the same wobbles when I bought mine, but like Vintage84 says, I think its partly down to spending such a huge amount of money on one dress, in the knowledge that you can't just afford to buy something else if you change your mind. It's also one of the most major decisions you have to make about the wedding, and if you're anything like me, you make all the important decisions in your life with your OH and this is a once-in-a-lifetime decision that you can't share with him, and you just want to get it right. So that doesn't help with the wobbles!

But, if you've tried on several dresses and this is the one that you actually put a large sum of money on, I think that says something about your true feelings for the dress. I loved mine in the shop, when I bought it, but was underwhelmed the next day when I looked at the sneaky photos I had taken on my phone. And I think that that has something to do with the feeling you get when you're actually IN your dress. When I had mine properly fitted and was twirling around the shop in it again, i feel in love with it all over again. I seriously considered buying a new one but I'm so glad I didn't. Its hopefully just nerves for you, and I really hope that either way, whether you get a new dress or not, you'll feel like a princess on the day. But I would say, trust your heart, as your brain is probably a bit confused by all the other wedding stuff!

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. X.

I've got quite a few bits and pieces to do but I've got next week off work to finalise everything. It's just doing the last bits on the name cards etc, but nothing major. Getting a bit nervous and excited now, I feel like a kid at Christmas! And I'm sooo looking forward to wearing my dress. After replying to your thread I rang my FMIL, who has the dress at her house, and asked if I can go round tonight 'just to check it still fits'. I don't think she believes that that's the real reason but I'm so excited that I don't care ?.

And I know what you mean about feeling two sizes smaller, I feel the same in mine. I definitely think you made the right choice, your dress is gorgeous.

Glad your feeling more settled now, it is a seriously lovely dress!

Must be a week for wobbles..... woke up yesterday thinking "oh my god can I do this??" Thats the first time since I started buying stock! Went to the shop, signwriter did my window for me and I had a huge smile on my face so my wobbles did settle somewhat!

    Lucielou

I didn't feel pressured at all, the staff were fantastic, they knew I was really picky(I'd pre warned them) and kept running off to get other dresses that they thought would fit with what I was looking for. I had picked out 4 or maybe 5 dress to get started with, including the one I put the deposit on in the end, I must have had on at least another 4 they thought might work. picked fault with them all except that one, They made me try that one back on at the end and while I was stood there staring at my reflection one of the girls jokingly said, "I know your looking for fault with it as you've picked at least one fault with every dress you've had on, except this one !" It made me laugh because she was right but I couldn't find anything to fault.

The panic has subsided a great deal now and I'm sure when I try it on again I'll know exactly why I put the deposit down on it. ( hopeful get a pic of me in it then too)

I much prefer your dress, not keen on satin at all. The one you have put a deposit on is lovely.

The jury is out on that at the moment, They have confirmed the deposit is movable and I'm going back next week(Thurs) with my mum, I'm hoping when I put that dress back on that I love it all over again because the more I look at the picture of it the more I find myself smiling, So hopefully this time next week I'll be posting an excitable post saying "I have my dress " and if I don't at least I know I can use the deposit on something else.

I'll let you know the result.

I, too, prefer the taffeta one to the satin ones, and am 100% with you on the faffy bits! The main thing is that you have to be in a dress that you're happy with. When you put it on on your big day you want to feel a million pounds (let alone those cheap dollars) and if you have any niggling doubts now, they'll be even bigger then.

Give them a call, go back to the shop and try it on again. If you're still not sure, try to find another one int he shop you can transfer your deposit to. But if all else fails, be prepared to forfeit that deposit to make sure you have the dress of your dreams on the day.

PS I have to say this, I adore the sound of taffeta. It just sounds like weddings to me!
