OMs - dance lessons?

Mellow_Yellow, 17 February, 2012 at 14:53 Posted on Planning 0 7

Did anyone have a specific routine for their first dance, and if yes - how did it go/was it worth it?

I'm not a OM - obviously as you well know MY...but OH and I took a few dance lessons last year before we changed our plans to Italy, and beause my work at the time were giving me £150 towards learning a new thing (I chose dancing)

I quite enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't have done it if I had to pay for it....

It was Dee's dancing in Pollokshaws that I went to, it was a nice older fella who runs it, though he did change my appointments quite a few times which was irritating.

I'm not likely to use what I learned now however lol

We have booked 3 hours of lessons to have a routine choreographed - apparently its my fault that we need to - because I insist on leading! ?

Its possibly a bit firvolous with the budget,. but we don't dance properly 'together' in a sensible way much anymore, I really don't want to end up with the painful 1st dance shuffle, and I am a dram,a queen, so the whole thing is a bit of a performance so its an oppotunity not to be wasted!!

My OH and I have been going to Ballroom dancing lessons since sept last year to get a grip on some moves and give my OH some confidence as he claims he cant dance (he can) We plan to sort out a proper routine for our first dance and maybe shove in a waltz at some point as we are quite good at that lol!

I'm choreographing a Viennese Waltz for us to do for our first dance. I used to dance pro and started teaching too, so think it would look silly if we were just to do a shuffle round the dance floor!

Anyone in the Derby/Notts area want some dance lessons? ?

Nope. We did a shuffle round the floor and then invited everyone else up ASAP. Dancing = not MrMinis strong point.

We pay £10 a week to go to open lessons, its mainly to get us out and about trying something new anyway.

Apparently out first song would be more suited to the foxtrot so may have to think about having more expensive lessons nearer the time.

I want to waltz with my dad anyway, so at least thats come in handy!
