OM's, Toilet Advice Needed...

Rizzo, 19 April, 2011 at 17:55 Posted on Planning 0 29

On your wedding day, when you went to the toilet did you sit backwards on the toilet and if so did it make the whole 'weeing in a wedding dress' experience easier?

This may come under TMI, but any advice on doing a number two is welcome as well. Best to be prepared. ?

Backwards is the tried & trusted method!

Go into the loo facing it so that you can trail the dress out of the door. Keep Security on the door outside!!

Ha ha, sorry this made me chuckle. I didn't even think to use the loo the wrong way round, i just had to take a bridesmaid with me each time to hitch up the back of my dress for me (just enough so i had hold of it, not to give them a flash each time, lol) And thankfully no number 2's needed on the day!

OH GAWD! I never even thought about how I'll go to the loo in my dress. And I've got the smallest bladder in the world - there's no way I'll be able to hold it all day and night. I don't even know if I can sit down in my dress. Why didn't I check? More wobbles!

My sister who was chief bridesmaid made sure that the disabled toilet was kept free and everyone knew it was for me and my dress lol

She also helped me when I had to go, she stood holding my dress up and looking the other way.

OMG - never gave it one thought! I have a good bladder but... it depends on my sugar levels. i am diabetic and if stress makes my sugars high, I end up peeing every half an hour!!! On the other hand, I will need to inject my insulin 4 times throughout the day and night - shoulder i guess (although usually it's belly but there' no way I'll be lifting and holding my dress to do my injection)...

    Eeek...

After getting into my dress (which wasn't much before 2PM) I only went once at about 9.30PM!! Have to admit, I went the normal way, with no help from BMs. But then I didn't have a big dress or really much of a train to speak of! The one thing I did struggle with though was getting my 'suck-me-in' pants down and then up again ? They just sort of rolled up into a band around my ankles!

I went ONCE the entire day, and I had a zipper so my cbm unzipped me and I used the ensuite bathroom in the room...then I got zipped up again.

I took my mum / sister / friend with me who held the dress up and then went as normal, probably more side saddle than backwards! ?

The manager of the bridal shop is coming to dress me @ 11am.

I have a bladder the size of a peanut & regularly get bouts of IBS. And have a massive bubble hem train.

Intend to use the reverse method & disabled toilet!

    JOY!!!

I've told my H2B that once we're married I'm his responsibility when it comes to weeing. I can't think of anything worse than having Mummy Dearest helping me.

My mum is Judy Geller from Friends (well you know what I mean) and she would find some way to insult me while I was weeing. It's the exact reason she wasn't included when I went dress shopping and why I'll be trying my dress on for the first time when it arrives while she is on holiday...

Went to the loo on my own and sat normally. No problems what so ever! Like you would any dress you have on, you keep hold of it.

I may be wrong but I think the problems arrise if you're wearing a hoop. I didn't have one and no problems! (I did have a net skirt)

I thought I was going to be in the same boat as you with injections but after 2 years of jumping through NHS hoops my insulin pump finally came through so I should be up and running with the pump and 'injecting' remotely by August!

That said, I may have to get a pocket sewn into my dress to hold the thing or rig up some sort of garter to hold it ?

Go to the loo immediately before getting into your dress.

I used the disabled cubicle and had my sister come with me. I sat on the loo normally and just got her to help hold the dress up. I had more trouble with my knickers and stockings to be honest ?

Trick is to put stockings/suspender belt on first - then knickers.
