On the day help setting up ?

hely08, 2 October, 2008 at 12:31 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hi

just after some advice / recommendations !

We get married at a golf club in norfolk and they have said we cant set up the room until on the day maybe even lunch time ?!?!?

I get married at 1pm so am starting to think It may be a bit stressful and not set up how I want - do you think its worth hiring someone to come in to set up tables, put out names and check flowers etc?? so should i just box it up and hand over to golf club to do?

also does anyone know any co.s that offer this kind of service in norfolk and any idea of cost ??

Thanks !! ?

I would put pressure on your venue to give you a definitely time that you can get in so that you can plan around it.

Do you have any friends you can trust to do it how you like it?

You could have a trial session with everything, set it up exactly how you like it and take photos so that they have something to refer to.

I am sure the venue will be fine setting up for you. As long as you have a meeting with them to give instructions and a list to work from it should be fine.

I am a Venue Dresser based in Bristol but we travel Nationwide if you get stuck!

That does seem very tight, and pretty much the last thing you'd want to be doing on the day!

I'd have a word with them and explain to them that it's not enough time. See what they say first.

    Hi ya

I get booked a lot for OTD as brides want to know that not only will their wedding run smoothly but also that all of their visions will be put into place. Just to give you an idea of what should be involved, with venue dressing and OTD co-ordination I meet with the couple a few weeks before the wedding and we run through everything about the day, to who the suppliers are with details to how you want the napkins folded! We draw plans together and I then send a final details contract for the couple to sign. This is then what has been agreed and I use this to work from. I liaise with all of the suppliers on their behalf finalising details and making sure everyone knows what and when they are doing it. It then leaves the entire wedding party including friends and family to enjoy the time before the wedding and not having to deal with any problems that arise.

I am sure Pina Colada is in Norfolk. I'm not sure what her plans are with the business but have a look at her site www.essenceevents.co.uk.

To give you an idea, have a look at my site for costs www.finesseplanning.co.uk.

I think with the timings being so close together it would be an investment into your sanity!! See if Laura (PC) can help in anyway.

No problem, just wish I was a bit closer. I think PC does the same as me and offers a 20% discount to hitchers, so it's well worth a go.

Hope it works out for you!
