Once a day sun cream

Holey, 14 January, 2014 at 13:22 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 17

Has anyone used one to good effect?

Last time I went somewhere hot I used the Boots Soltan one but it ended up giving me a rash as it's quite oily (didn't burn though which is a minor miracle for me), so has anyone used the Piz Buin or P20 one?

ETA: Sorry for the snoozefest of a post!

I swear by Piz Buin... I never sun bathing using it, but more for when we are out and about, I don't even tan using it, seems to block everything. Plus I have sensitive skin and they do an allergy range.

I use p20 after someone sugessted it. I love it. I am pretty fair (my Mum has ginger hair and I have her skin tone). I can tan but very slowly so don't try to if that makes sense. I have never burnt while wearing it and can be outside all day although I do the usual breaks from the sun and cover up if I can. I have swum with it too so I re-apply at lunchtime if I'm on a beach holiday to be safe. Although just a warning it has marked a couple of white tops so I put it on and wait around usually with not a lot on until it sinks in then get dressed and that has been better.

I always use P20. I get prickly heat and its the only thing that stops it. It also works. I havent burned once since using it. Ive used factor 20 and factor 10. I think they do some higher factors too.

We put it on the kids too and they can play all day in and out of the pool without a top up, except perhaps across the face.

You have to make sure it completely dries before putting clothes on, but that only takes a few mins.

I would suggest buying it from Amazon, or now - as in the summer they dont do offers.

I wouldnt use anything else now.

Right ignorant here - do you put it on in the morning and you don't have to put it on again all day even when swimming? That sounds mad and too good to be true? I'm usually slapping on the regular stuff hourly!

First thing in the morning ATB and make sure it dries. It does stain your clothes so I wouldn't wear anything too expensive. I have topped up during the day but also it has lasted all day. First heard of it years ago when we were in Cyprus and the temperature was 40 ish and didn't burn.

Oh thanks I'll get some for next hols then if it's that good. I think I'll struggle not to top up incase I'm burning and can't feel it, suppose got to have a bit of faith in it! I usually use Factor 50 for babies, so this could be a revelation!

Well whatever it is, its bloody horrible!

But I dont get it every time I'm in the sun, which is weird. Only when its REALLY hot. Egypt was 48degrees and turkey was 42. Theyre the only times I got it.

I swear by P20 too. I've found it only stains your clothes if you're wearing white cotton.

It's hard to say without trying it Flora, its not like normal suncream, it's more of a liquid consistency.

I also swear by P20, as does my pasty Irish husband. We get the factor 30, 20 and 10 normally and easily go through all of the 20 & 30 on a weeks holiday. Neither of us burn if we are using it and it does last all day.

I've tried other brands but they're not as good, nowhere near.

It does stain white clothes irrelevant of whether it's dry, but just try not to wear anything too valuable over the top of it.

P20 it is then! Now to track down a Boots that has it so I can use my points to buy it.

The Soltan one I've used before stained a white vest but to be honest I plan on spending most of my holiday in my bikini so hopefully should be ok in terms of staining but thanks for the heads up
