Once you are married...

lamby, 4 June, 2010 at 11:05 Posted on Planning 0 24

When you are married and honeymooned, what are you most looking forward to…?

Romantically, I'm very excited about calling my boyfriend my husband and being a wifey! I'm also really looking forward to going out to dinner and stuff wearing our rings!! And mostly, am looking forward to baba making - hopefully!!

Practically, I have to add am SO looking forward to getting my life back a bit and just being able to watch tele at night and not having to make calls, emails, appointments throughout the week and weekend! And I'm also looking forward to my work productivity levels surely rising when I'm not faffing about skiving on forums all day or daydreaming/worrying about my dress!! My manager won't know what's going on!

OH says he thinks I will be mildly depressed after everything is done and there is nothing to plan but I really don't think so! ?

I'm looking forward to being able to relax and not be spending every weekend trying to co-ordinate BM's & mothers for various appts. I'm also looking forward to having money and being able to do things without thinking 'we should really be saving this' The biggest things I'm looking forward to are being able to call OH hubby and baby-making x

Like most of you it's calling my OH "hubby" even tho he's already that on my phone, lol.

The other thing i can't wait for is living on our own, at the mo we're living with my mum in order to pay for the wedding but as soon as that's done we're getting our own place and as silly as it sounds i can't wait to become a housewife.

    xx

Yesterday I was exactly 3 months away and I think I agree with most people here when I say I'm most looking forward to being able to call my beautiful boy, 'my husband', as in "sorry I've got to go, my husband is waiting" or when people say "your husband is on the phone for you" CAN'T WAIT!!! And cooking for him and being at home waiting for him when he comes back late from working events Smiley smile

Also as my mum has not been very supportive and I currently live with her, moving in to my fiance's flat will be a relief! No more negativity around! Smiley smile

Agree with all you ladies - "Husband" is the big Yipee for me.

Infact I'm so excited by it that the other day I called him husband by accident. I telesales person called asking to speak to the man of the house and I said "My husband isn't available at the moment" (Even though he was). OH came running into the room jumping up and down with joy because he heard me. ?

We already live together in our house with our kitties and I love our little family, being Husband and Wife will make it all the more perfect.

Strangely the bit I'm most looking forward to is having the same surname as OH and also my son. I think I'll feel like we're a proper little family then.

You might be really surprised with how you feel afterwards because I hated the whole wedding planning thing but I had major wedding blues and only posted a few weeks ago saying I was still gutted the wedding was over a year on! I am just sad that I've had my big day and won't get to repeat it.

I like saying husband and wearing my wedding ring.

Apart from that nothing has changed because we already lived together and had done for a few years so nothing massive has changed but I do feel different...more settled I guess.

I'm looking forward to us becoming a family. We're planning on moving to a bigger place and trying for babas a few months after the wedding, can't wait. My own family weren't all that secure when I was growing up (same as many!) and I can't wait to form my own family the way I want, if that makes sense.

I am really looking forward to being Mr and Mrs Allison as it will be icing on the cake for me. We already live together and have our puppy so I got my little family already. I can't wait to call him "my husband" either.

After planning it will be babies for me as we're already trying. Not properly but just seeing what happens. We both want a family asap. x

I'm looking forward to us having the same name, and being a Mrs! Can't wait to start getting post addressed in my new name! And just calling him husband, and being a wife, and planning the future and a family.

Also my childish side can't wait to give the finger to his psycho ex-wife who thought I was just a stupid fling/bimbo/mid life crisis and it would never last. Ha!

Aaaw. I love that you all cannot wait to become mummy's. We did things the other way around as we needed IVF so the wedding was on the back burner incase we needed more then 1 treatment. We were blessed that it worked first time. We had our perfect little son August last year. It is by far the best job in the world. x ?

P.s like Kate, I can't wait to have the same surname as the rest of my perfect family now Smiley smile

    Old married here!

We've been married almost 2 and a half years. It was a bit of a relief to return to normality a little and not having to think about wedding planning all the time! I was a little sad when it was over though.

It felt so strange saying "my husband" and remembering to call myself a Mrs! It feels like it's not real but you get used to it and its lovely!

I really didn't realise how different and fantastic it would feel to be married. I have one or two friends in relationships who don't want to marry and think it doesn't make much difference but both my husband and I love the feeling of being married.

We are looking forward to starting our family and hopefully moving house soon.
