One year to go and nothing to do - help?

HeatherPattonx, 31 May, 2015 at 21:31 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hey everyone?.... Looking for a bit of advice...

So we get married a year on Thursday - this is what we've done so far:

  • Wedding dress
  • Bridesmaid dresses
  • Venue
  • Humanist
  • Cars
  • Caterers
  • Decor company
  • Photographers
  • Ceremony/drinks reception entertainment
  • Evening reception entertainment
  • Videographer
  • Save the dates have been sent
  • Even done the table plan with my current numbers!

Ordering kilts at the end of the year as advised by the shop; ordering rings at start of next year; getting my flower girl's dress next year bcos she grows every 5 minutes ? and looking into the option of insurance & possible guest transport.

But ive got to the stage that ive ran out of things to do bcos ive done alot on nights ive been sitting bored infront of the tv! Feel a bit deflated - anyone else felt/feel like this & have any suggestions?

Enjoy the break you have from planning. I was like that at the year mark but I guess I had Xmas and New Years to occupy my time. Now all of a sudden it's under 6 months and things are picking up again. You are very organised just like I was. Trust me after the year mark it has just flown by so far so I would enjoy a couple of months away from planning :-)

Have you looked at honeymoon options?

Also, what about readings for your ceremony/music?

Check carefully on your insurance that they cover deposits already paid before the policy was taken out.

I’m in pretty much the same position – a year and 2 months to the day until we get married and I’ve pretty much booked everything that I can this far out and now feel a bit lost with nothing much ‘weddingy’ to do. I’m trying to busy myself with other things at the moment and will maybe start on some of the DIY wedding bits soon. I wouldn’t worry thought – it will be here before you know it – I can’t believe that I’m already so close to the 1 year mark because when we booked it we were much closer to the 2 year mark and it really doesn’t feel that long ago!!
