One year today to go!!! *Mega Flash*

marie75, 10 August, 2015 at 14:38 Posted on Planning 0 18

It's one year today till the big day so thought It was time to do a mega flash, I apologise in advance lol

The following things are definate ie booked and deposits paid

our venue- Upwaltham Barns

The outside

The Barn where we will get married, this is also the chair format that we will have

The reception barn, we are definitely having round tabled but am undecided about the top table format at the mo

The meadow at the back of the venue which we can use for photos

Next my dress and shoes, I will wear the illusion jacket for the daytime but will take it off for the evening

The Bridesmaids two older (17 & 19) and two flowergirls (3 & 7), I have already purchased the older ones but will hold off on the flowergirls in case of growth spurt although I am pretty set on them but will add a pale pink sash around the middle.

Other items that have been secured

The ice cream van for after the ceremony, no one knows except me and OH

Giant love letters

Photobooth London cab for the evening

Other things are still are still to be selected but the following photos are my inspirational ones and will link in my colours of pink, grey and ivory with a touch of sparkle-

invitations

Sweet table, I have bought lots of jars, bowls etc just need to get the final pieces and the sweets

My flowers and headpiece- I have yet to make my final decision although I have pretty much paid for them, the following ones are front runners at the moment except I would have more pearl accents in the bouquet instead of the crystal and more pink.

Mens suits, we have mix of style and body shapes so we are going for mixed suits so will look something like this but in tones of grey and maybe blues with pink and grey ties and pocket squares

decor idea-

centrepieces- these would likely have mini bunting hanging from them with the jam jars of mixed flowers (smaller than the pic) around them along with tea lights

Venue decorations- I want a mix of bunting (made by me) and pom poms, I am making these out of tulle, these will all be in our colours

Cake inspiration- there are so many I like lol, I would like three different flavoured layers, this one is my favourites but I would replace the ribbon with pink

I think that's all I can flash for today, there's other things being worked on at the mo but I'll save them for my 6 month flash including my up cycled vintage suitcase, the blackboards and aisle decs that my dad is currently making and my ceremony table decs.

Hope you have enjoyed looking xx

Looks good. Love a good year mark flash

I would have thought that was 2 different dresses if you didnt say it was an illusion jacket.

I havent seen the london taxi photo booth before, it looks good, im intrigued ?

Thankyou ladies, it all seems to be coming together now.

the only person that knows about my dress is my mum as she came with me on my dress appointment, I've been having a few wobbles about it but the more I see it the more I love it.

the London cab photo booth we saw at a wedding Fayre at our venue and mo other half was smitten, two copies of the photos get printed out and the guests keep one and then the other goes into a guest book which they can then leave a message with their photo, this is organised by the company person that will accompany the cab.

Where did you get the dresses for the older girls? I'm trying to find a dress for my sister who is 14 but don't want to spend a huge amount Smiley sad

    thankyou Smiley smile

They came from BHS, I got them when they had a 20% off event and used a voucher that was in their little bridal catalogue and they cost £69 after the discounts. They are really nice quality and modest without being stuffy.

SaraPoppy- I fell in love instantly with it and couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else.

MrsShep- I did warn you it was mega lol, there's more to come but thought I would save some and some projects are under construction.

MrsFRtobe- I loved it when I tried it on and nothing else came close, I've had a few wobbles but love it the more I see it and can't believe this time in a year I will be wearing it and will be married!!!

I love everything about your wedding plans!! I really love those pom poms - do you have a tutorial for them? I want to make some but the tutorials online don't have an end product that look how I would like Smiley sad

Hi, I made these ones very quickly last night out of tulle/netting and a piece of ribbon just to have a go lol, I think they are very effective and they are quite robust and only cost around 35p each to make including the ribbon (they are about 7-8 inches across)

I literally cut strips across the width of the material at 6inches wide and wrapped then around a wedding mag (8inches wide) i used 3 strips each for these. Holding it tight I slid it of and tied a piece of ribbon tightly around the centre and then cut the 'folds' at each end and then 'fluffed' it all out. I am going to experiment with different sized strips and amount of strips to get the best combination.
