I got home last night to find a big parcel had been delivered while I was out. I was a bit confused as we'd got all out internet shopping and weren't expecting anything else. Opened it up to find a ruddy great hamper with 2 bottles of wine, lobster & venison pates, olives, fancy salsa and some posh crackers. ?

I'm just so happy, I've never received anything other than an emailed Christmas card from other companies I've worked for.

Oooh that's lovely.

We used to get either a sausage roll or mince pie for christmas but since they made approx. 80 redundant in the Summer with more going in January, I'm just glad I have a job this year.

Do you feel guilty for moaning about the Christmas do at Frankie & Benny's now? ? Did you go by the way?

What a fab gift. We get nothing from our company and H gets £25 from his which is paid in with his wages so he ends up paying national insurance and tax on it.

? Well I still think it was a long way to go for a not great meal, but I didn't stay for it in the end. I was on the verge of collapsing after the first game of bowling, so left about 6.30pm and then spend the next 3 days in bed. GOK what I'd been like if I'd stayed!

Am loving the hamper though, I just hope I can stop Mr Flaf finishing off the good stuff before I'm allowed to eat it in May.

That is a fab present! A company I used to work for gave great gifts at Christmas too - Tiffany bowls, CD players, Luggage.....the company I work for at the moment gives us £17 in our wages (minus tax & NI) but I won't complain - at least they haven't made me redundant.

Thats lovely! My OH got a Christmas Pudding and a big box of chocs from Thorntons which was fab.
