Opinion please...

I love this butterfly mobile and was thinking of doing it on a mass scale from the wooden beams in our receptions... Do you think it would work well?

Yes! That looks beautiful, what a lovely idea. It would look lovely too if they spread out a bit towards the bottom perhaps. Looks like a fiddly job though, have fun!

Love it! I think one in the middle of each beam would work well.

It's really lovely but would it be big enough? Difficult to judge the dimensions. Also check if they will let you hang anything from the beams.

It looks lovely, but does look fiddly to make, but certainly do-able if you have the time. The lights on the roof already provide a focal point so I'm not sure where you'd hang the mobiles from?

Another option, rather than having one big mass of butterflies, would be to have strings of them hanging along the beams, or strings of them at various heights from the beans & ceiling. I've seen pics of this with origami birds, but butterflies would look lovely.

If you could find a large, hole punch with the shape you want, it would be SO much quicker than cutting them out yourself. If you wanted a more realistic look, there is a company that sell coloured, plastic butterflies that look very real. They flutter in the wind, can be re-used and come in all shapes, sizes & colours. Its an Aussie company but they post world wide. Would be pricier than making out of paper though, but look beautiful.

Thanks everyone the initial plan is to wrap both purple and cream organza around the beams and circular lights then attach a mixture of cream, purple and lilac butterflies to the organza. My butterfly punch produces 2.5 inch butterflies and they will be hanging at all different heights via a thin fishing wire x

    Hey venue twin!

This looks lovely! You could even carry it on through the rest of the venue like the bar area : ) Although this sounds like a lot of work! lol.

Depending on how big you're going to make them and your colours -

Butterfly cutter and freebie paint card swatches - just saying! ?

Thank you everyone, my butterfly press is 2 inches and I started cutting them last night. I got 500 done... I also worked out to get the effect I want I will need 8000 to make 4000 and that should be enough lol...
