opinion pls..my daughters readings

thecakeylady, 18 April, 2008 at 16:01 Posted on Planning 0 12

My eldest daughter has rewritten a bit out of a story book for my daughter and stepdaughter to read at our wedding.. what do people think?? dont want to shatter whats she done..but wondered what other peoples reactions would be.. as its natural to go with your childrens creations!

Guess How Much my mummy loves your daddy??

(Lucy) Guess how much my mummy loves your daddy??

(molly) I don't think my daddy could ever guess that

(Lucy)"this much" (lucy stretches her arms)

(molly) "but my daddy loves your mummy more than that..this much (molly stretches out her arms)

(lucy) " hmm, that is alot , but my mummy loves your daddy as high as she can reach

(molly) but, my daddy loves your mummy as high as he can reach too

(lucy)but my mummy says she loves your daddy all the way from his head to his toes

(molly) well, "I love you all the way up to your toes, said my daddy swinging your mummy over his head!"

(lucy) Well, my mummy loves your daddy as high as she can hop

(molly) Well, my daddy loves your mummy as high as he can hop which is all the way to the kebab shop

(lucy) Well, my mummy loves your daddy down the lane and to the river

(molly) well, my daddy loves your mummy accross the river and over the hills

(lucy) well my mummy says she loves your daddy right up to the moon and she closed her eyes and went to sleep

(molly)my daddy leaned over and kissed her good night, laid down next to her and whispered with a smile, I love you right up to the moon and back!!

(molly&lucy) and they lived happily ever after!

thanks..catherine x

I like it. A bit twee, but because it's kids who'll be reading it (they are kids aren't they?!) everyone will think it's really cute.

I love it! I know the book it's inspired by and it's a really nice way of getting both daughters involved. That really made me smile.?

Thankyou for the honesty... yes they are children.. lucy is 11 and molly is 9..

they are enthusiastic when reading it..and sound competitive..so is quite comical to watch.. but then I'm biased..just wanted to know that no one would be wretching thinking its a sickly as treacle!

They are so enthusiastic.. and working so well together.. didnt really want to dampen their enthusiasm.. so is helpful for outside opinions.. thankyou again x

It's your wedding day, you're bound to get people on here with strong opinions against it, but then weddings are often about having something a bit sikcly thrown in. ?

It's not my cup of tea - but then I'm not really into kiddie stuff, at least for the time being (desperately trying not to sound like the Ice Queen, ?) but I do know lots of people that would find it adorable if being read by kids.

It's not somethign I would have at my wedding but lke some other's I'm not into the 'kids being cute' thing.

However if I saw this at a friends wedding it would probably make me smile because of the girls delivery more than the words, so I say go for it.

I think it will be fine and I like the fact that it's different. As a registrar it's always nice to hear something we've not heard before.

Not sure about the hopping bit tho.Hopping high doesn't really go with all the way to the kebab shop thats a distance thing not a height.

I once did a wedding where the groom's father did his version of a Mr Men story involving the groom, bride and their children and he had everyone in stitches.
