Opinions needed please re..DIY bouquet

2b_MrsB, 14 September, 2012 at 16:38 Posted on Planning 0 21

Hi Everyone,

First picture is what what inspired me to make my own brooch bouquet.

This is my first attempt to put my brooch bouquet together and ?

I know it needs to be pulled tighter together but I'm worried the ribbon roses are too large !

Opinions please ????

Thanks

L x

I think it looks different to the first picture, but I still think it looks lovely. I would say it might be better with smaller roses, and it you look at the first picture they don't appear to be round the edges, more in the central parts of the bouquet?

    Thanks ladies

    selenalee69- I'll get tweaking

Mrs Imp - I'm not trying to replicate the first exactly ( I'd fail) only took inspiration from it ,

the picture of mine probably wasn't at the best angle as the roses aren't just round the edge. but I do think I'll try to make some smaller roses.

(different angle -looking from the top)

I've never been into arts and crafts so I'm really pleased with myself for having a go and I've got 9 months to go before my wedding so lots of time for improvement or to change my mind !! eek !

    Thanks for replying ?

This looks fabulous - well done!

I didn't even notice the silk flowers in the first bouquet so maybe they are actually too small? I think yours could do with being a little snugger, though, it would make the whole thing look more structured and stylised....which I think is the idea with these sorts of bouquets?

Really looks beautiful though - if you did nothing else to it, and I saw this being carried by a bride, I would think "Wow - that looks great!"

I think the size of the roses are fine but you could maybe try adding some crystal pins to the centre of the roses to brake up the block of colour and may make it look more pow pow!

I think the roses are fine maybe just a few more brooches, but prefer it to the 1st one.

Thanks for your opinions everyone ?

There is a few gaps so a few more brooches will go in definitely.

    Well done, it's lovely!

A few more brooches would fill any gaps and as mentioned, maybe some diamanté head corsage pins through the roses. ?

Once again, thanks for your opinion ?

I've ordered some pins as someone else suggested earlier as I'm hoping that breaking up the block colour will make the roses seem smaller (if you know what I mean) so just need a few more brooches now .

It looks great! I prefer yours to the first as I think the first one is a bit too perfectly rounded to the point where it looks like a ball of brooches - yours looks like a bouquet of diamond flowers which is a much prettier effect x x x x

    Thanks Sarah ?

I'm still concerned by the size of the roses but hopefully some diamante pins will help.

Hows are you doing with yours ?? and look forward to a flash of it when your ready ?
