Opinions please

mrs zippy, 6 August, 2008 at 16:15 Posted on Planning 0 2

I want to have my hen do abroad and i was thinking of Nerja in southern Spain.

Has anybody been/ got any opinions? We want somewhere that we can relax and enjoy the sun (hiopefully) and have nice meals and a few drinks in the evening.

I haven't been to the place you mentioned but i am doing this, me and my 6 bridesmaids are staying in a private villa in southern spain for 5 days/4 nights. Its not a busyt resort but ahs a few nice restaurants.

Then i'm just having a "main" hen night in a city maybe york or similar with around 30 people.

I've stayed in Nerja, and it was lovely. Very family orientated, some very cheap restaurants including our favourite which was something like "La Marina" - a fish restaurant near a square. There is a long road along the top of the beach - at one end access to the beach is flat, at the other end (where the main touristy part of Nerja and the Balcony of Europe is) there are a LOT of steps to the beach - so great for getting in shape for the wedding! The sand was so hot it could burn your feet (this was in mid August 2006)

Again I've not been there but have spent a lot of time further down the coast in duquesa/mijas/fuengirola which is further south (about the same distance from malaga but in the opposit direction!) and its really nice! You'll find that most people speak English, in fact most will be expats which makes things a bit easier for ordering etc!! If Nerja is anything like further down the coast, it will be fab!
