Opinions please - which dress colour looks better on me?? - edited

Sorry - I don't understand why they have gone, they were on here as I checked. Anyone know why they could have disappeared??? This is my first photo post but followed instructions Joflake gave in a recent thread.

I can see them all fine!

Firstly, I really love the style of your dress. Its quite hard to tell with the colours, you suit them both as your not a milk bottle like me! I quite like the 'shiny ness' of the pearl one I think.

Where/when are you getting married again?

Thanks DeeDee ... at least someone got to see them! I am getting married next May in small country church in Suffolk, followed by reception in a converted barn.

Ok so do I have to make the album public even if I just want to copy a few from it? and Nona yes I was using the whole tree thing. Its taken me most of the day to work out photobox as I had major problems with the plugins etc but finally I have entered the 21st century and loaded some pics and they don't work!! (well only briefly anyway).

The reason i asked about when/where, I was thinking if it was over winter I thought the pearl one might be nice if it wasn't really sunny or even against some nice frost or if you were getting married outside somewhere abroad, the magnolia might have been nice, but since its none my thoughts are wasted!!lol!

Well I originally tried on the magnolia one when I was dress hunting ages ago as they didn't have it in any other colour. Went back last Sat to order it and get measurements done then the woman in the shop said which colour? (thought it only came in white and magnolia). She showed me the pearl one and at that point it was really bright and sunny and I thought maybe that one looks better against my skin (the magnolia one looked very light and almost yellowey in that light, but I was in a different part of the shop from when I first tried it on and the lighting was quite different). So I thought I would take a friend with me to help out and she was against the pearl (on that ocassion it was a really dull and grey day though so lighting very different again). So now really confused as shop assistants thought maybe pearl. HELP!!!!! So to eventaully answer your questions DeeDee - I don't know which one now. I really need to order this week but I think I am stressing over the colour as its such an expensive item, I feel pressured to getting it looking the best I can!

I do like the Magnolia with your colouring, but you can wear both so its a difficult one! xx

Pearl!

I think so anyway!

It's a tough one, but I think pearl as it looks more shimmery and more "white". (And magnolia makes me think of paint ?) But they both look fine against your skin.

I like the Magnolia the best as it looks brighter and cleaner.

I agree with PurrfectGems - I like the Magnolia one best. It's a much warmer colour and I think the dress and colour look lovely on you. I'm having a complete rethink on my dress as the style I'd set my heart on looked awful when I tried it on. If it's not to cheeky would you mind telling me the designer and style of your dress?

Are you wearing a veil? If so I would go with the colour that would be easiest to match a veil with.

I much prefer the magnolia. I don't like the shininess of the pearl (it may not photograph that well other than pro photos) and the colour is less crisper.

My feeling is that I prefer the pearl, good luck deciding! x

Joflake - thats exactly what my friend said about the colour of the pearl one.

Mmmm think I might be veering back to the magnolia then which was the orginal colour, plus my shoes will match better.

Poosie - the dress is by a designer called Essence, its number D827. Its an Australian company, I live in New Zealand but I am sure they stock in

UK too as I think a few others on here were going for Essence gowns a while back. I know what you mean about setting your heart on a

particular style and it not looking that good as this one originally wasn't at the top of my list. Good luck with finding THE dress.

Erm to be honest i couldn't tell much of a difference... ? but then again, i can't tell the diff between ivory/magnolia/cream/white/diamond white etc plus majorly short sighted so think it's just me!

I think that the magnolia looks much nicer - although I wanted to prefer pearl because it's a prettier name.

I like the magnoila, on some it looks like you are stood in the doorway with no clothes on holding the dress up!!! Looks like someone could have got a cheeky view?

? yeah I know does look a bit like that ...... maybe it was?!?

Well I am now thinking I may have been having a temporary moment of madness with the pearl colour as its an overwhelming vote for the magnolia (despite the unfortunate name).
