We are having quite an informal wedding no sit down meal just a fork buffet of cold meats salad etc .we are getting married at 4pm so the buffet will run into the evening reception i cant decide whether to stick with disposale plates & cutlery or go for proper plates & cutlery would it look cheap to go with the disposable option what do u all think ?

Proper plates and cutlery is the easiest way to dress up a buffet. I really like to see it.

I would go for proper plates and cutlery, it immediately makes it seem more upmarket

    What they said!

Disposable doesn't look good and it is a pain to use- the plate gets soggy and the cutlery always breaks!

We have something simular and I will be insisting on proper plates and cutlery.

I am loving the informal wedding ideas we've gone for, but paper plates are a step too far for me personally.

We were struggling with this too. But we decided that we will use real plates and cutlery in the day and then paper plates and plastic cutlery for the buffet in the evening.

We were worried we couldnt afford to hire/buy the plates etc, but I asked my family and they are all willing to lend us their plates! And I will like that its all mismatched
