I do actually really like them for the little ones especially with the ladybird detail! Not too sure if I personally would like one for my bridal bouquet although the button ones I have seen are amazing. I suppose it depends on your taste and the style of wedding you are going for. These are really cute for the little bridesmaids though ?

I'm really not sure to be brutally honest. I do like it but there's just something about it that makes it look childish or non weddingy. Which could be fine for a flowergirl but it's almost like you need a grown up version for your W2B. Or maybe it's because the sparkles aren't coming up properly in the pictures and look better in real life.

Maybe she could use a combination of felt flowers and the others as in a "usual" button bouquet?

Well I think thay are very clever, and for a little girl lovely. However, and please don't take offence - just an opinion after all, but something about them reminds me of 'The magic roundabout'. Sounds like they could work well with the ginghams and liberty prints that you mention though.

No offence taken, in fact I have a feeling Sue would love that! She is even more strange than I am.

I tell you what she could do (not that you can participate but could send someone in to be your "eyes") - she should try her dress on and hold it against it to see how it looks properly...

Think I would need to see it in front of the dress

I like it. The only thing I was unsure of are the pointy ones. Reminds me of a Jesters hat for some reason but I think it is a fab idea!!

I don't have you down as 'strange' at all. I respect the fact that you are open to other ideas, other than the traditional. After all, some of my taste may be considered a little strange by some.

I'm not a huge flower fan myself but I don't like it, sorry. The felt is what makes me think of it as something more suitable for children and I'm sorry to say but it looks cheap. I wouldn't have had a button bouquet for my wedding but I do really like them if people are quirky and it suits the style of the wedding and them as a person and love the one Bride Brat made.

A few ideas that appeal to me

This one is from our very own Starstruck

    Very different!!

Button boquets are usually vintagey so I love that this one is modern and bright.

Being completely honest - I much perfer the last picture - where there is more white as this is a lot more adult-like wheras I think the red/baby pinks are more suited to your 4 year olds.

Either way - your w2b is very talented and very patient to consider making that many! How many months until you get married? I assume it's lots of work?

ETA: Having read all the posts, I agree with Lynsey - if it suits her personality then she could probably pull it off. I am hugely traditional and so everyone will expect my more traditional choice of hand tied roses (for example) and my guests would never have heard of a button boquet so would wonder what on earth I was holding.

I like it! If it's the felt that makes you think it looks a bit child-like then she could always miss out the felt on hers and use red and white buttons instead, or even red silk to make the flowers stand out more, might look a bit more grown up, a bit like this one maybe -

    (But not as bright lol!)

A few more felt and button ones against dresses -

    - Love the pastel colours!

I think she's done a grand job of them, Marc, but they're not to my taste.

Does she really want a bouquet at all? Why not use it as an excuse for a pair of killer heels or a beautiful bag she could carry?

I'm going for flowers but I do feel a bit weird about having to lug them around all day!

I didn't want flowers either so don't have them if you don't want them!

I gave in as my sister kept asking me what I was going to hold in the photos and ordered a very small gerbera bouquet - it's on the floor in the vast majority of all my photos (laid on my dress artistically I'd like to add, not just plonked!) as I felt like a t!t holding flowers! ?

I like the concept but think it needs to be a mix of more than just felt, I think the colour is putting me off too (nothing personal, just not a red fan).

More buttons and other fabrics maybe?

They are not to my taste but if I recall correctly, they will match her shoes pretty well? I prefer the white version flashed by Lyndsey.

Sorry for not replying to this thread earlier, it's been a funny old day.

Thanks for all of your opnions, I think I agree with all of them a little bit.

Anyway, Sue and i have had a chat, I had to be sensitive as she has worked hard on these knowing full well I was not keen from the beginning. We have both agreed that we like them for Poppy (my 4yr old) but not 'adult' enough for sue. So she is going to have another go and change the design, materials and colours. If we are still not agreed after this one, then we shall ahve a re-think.

Thanks for your help guys, honest and helpful as ever.

I think part of the issue is that the one she made is quite 'flat'. If you look at some of the other examples flashed there is a bit more of a 3d look to the individual flowers, so each individual felt flower has some definition rather than blending in together. I also think the rounder petal flowers work better perhaps.

    Some good inspiration here http://www.flickr.com/photos/missjenniferrae/with/5480338336/

Well done to her though, it looks like a lot of hard work and I'm sure she'll be able to make something you are both happy with Smiley smile
