I hadn't thought about this until i spoke to the printers. I am now planning on having an order of the day - it will have a list of the bridal party, order of service - readings, time of meal etc, and a little thank you on the back page.

You don't have to have one - I have been to some with and some without. If you do, then just have the headings of the various parts of the ceremony. Some people like to include the text of any readings but you don't have to. The other thing you may wish to include is a little order of the day - e.g. 1pm service, 1.30 drinks, canapes and photos in x location, 3pm wedding breakfast in y location, 7pm evening reception starts...

Our civil ceremony OoS looked like this:

    Entrance of the bride

    Welcome and introduction

First reading: The Art of Marriage

    Read by X (groom's mother)

    Declarations

    Exchange of vows and rings

Second reading: Falling in love is like owning a dog

    Read by Y (bride's sister)

    Signing of the register

    Conclusion

Following the civil ceremony, the bridal party will move to the chapel of University College for the blessing. Please follow the ushers who will lead the way across the High Street.
