“Oh, The Places You’ll Go!” by Dr Seuss

Congratulations! Today is your day! You’re off to Great Places! You’re off and away!

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose!

You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And you are the ones who’ll decide where to go.

You’ll look up and down streets. Look them over with care. About some you will say, “We don’t choose to go there!”

With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet, you’re too smart to go down any “Not-So-Good” street.

And you may not find any you’ll want to go down. In that case, of course, you’ll head straight out of town!

It’s opener there in the wide open air...

...out there things can happen and frequently do to people as brainy and footsy as you!

And when things start to happen, don’t worry. Don’t stew!

Just go right along. You’ll start happening too...

    OH! The Places You’ll Go!

You’ll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You’ll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go...

So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact. And remember that Life’s a Great Balancing Act.

Just never forget to be dexterous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with left.

And will you succeed? Yes! You will, Yes indeed!

    (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed!)

Matt and Claire, You’ll move mountains!

Today is your day! You’re off to Great Places

    So get on your way!

We didn't have one, and I don't think they were missed. But we did have a fairly short civil ceremony. I've been to religious weddings where they're useful for non-religious guests to know what's going on in the service, but I still don't think they're absolutely essential.

We are having one. We are going to include who is doing the readings, what the readings are (one of them has been written by my MiL2b so that needs to be explained). Also i am going to include quotes about love/marriage/ tea parties (our theme) to keep people occupied and other little things to stop people realising how late i am! Although we are havign one i really dont think they are an essential and if you have not thougt about them beofre they obviously are not something that is important to you and so i wouldnt worry about sorting oen out now.

We didn't have them - I think if you have a civil service you don't need them, although people's ideas sounds lovely. TBH I didn't want to give OH something else to do! I also kind of felt quite good about not wasting more paper - we didn't have menus either and someone moaned like anything about that on Four Weddings when there weren't any!

If you really wanted to have something you could make scrolls. It would be easy done as a 1 page printout tied with ribbon, or fastened with a kindof removable sticker, like an envelope seal.

Im having a church wedding, so singing hymns etc, so having them on there. But i dont htink it would be missed if you didnt have them. My friend had a civil ceremony and I cant remember her having them!

We are having a civil ceremony and I wasnt having any but have decided on a brief Order of the Day scroll style. This just outlines what is happening, where and when for guests- should answer a few questions before I have to!

Our church has a generic OOS for people to use if they are not proving their own so I'm using that.
