I will just be buying some standard 5x7 blank cards, decorating them to match other stationery and adding a printed insert.

So you think a card outer is better than a paper one?

We had a folder card outer to match the rest of our stationary and then a printed paper insert. Guess it depends on how long the OOS though and whether you need more than one page!

Our outer is wallpaper! With nice paper inside.

I've seen all sorts, from card with several pages of inserts to a single piece of A4 paper folded over and tied with a bit of ribbon - I really think it's up to you. But if you're using paper then I would say make sure it's nice paper.

Interesting post as I am having the same debate with myself (and haven't got long to decide as wedding in 67 days! ) Our OOS is quite long as our vicar has asked us to put the readings and psalms on it as well as hymns so I'm thinking paper folded and tied with a nice ribbon. I have got some lovely parchment paper so hope that will suffice. Are you all making one for each guest or expecting people to share?

Mine are made from card, I'm making the outers now and then nearer the time I'll print off and stick in the paper inserts.

    I don't think you have a reputation Nona ?

    Hiya,

Not sure if this helps, but I am buying a sheet of A1 really hard card (not card board though as it's thinner but really sturdy stuff.) They do them in The Range in any colour for £2.99. This will be my background - think I'm going for cream and then got different shades of pink paper and some pinkingn sheers to cut for pretty edges.

    S xx

Ive bought a quite firm metallic cream paper...im going to print onto it and then fold it into a little scroll and tie it in the middle with a ribbon. it has been very cheap & i like 2 think very effective & a little different. hope this helps
