Organ music inspipration anyone?

Nutella, 5 November, 2012 at 20:48 Posted on Planning 0 9

Processional and recessional I am less worried about.

But I would like to find some more modern music to have during the signing of the register but not everything translates to sounding good on the organ.

Does anyone know of any sites which you can listen to organ versions of songs?

There are loads of examples on you tube but you need to be selective. It would be worth having a chat directly with your organist they often have suggestions you wouldn't think of yourself.

I have already extensivley scoured the net.

Not able to speak to organist at the moment and possibly not at all until close to the wedding.

That's why I am looking to see if anyone has any suggestions or good sites to visit.

I have been thinking about this too. We need an organist as we are having hyms, so will probably have the organ playing at the entrance and exit. But there is a piece of music I love for the register signing so may just have that on tape (or modern day equiv!) It depends on how ling it takes I guess. Is there a song or piece of music you like that can be put to the organ?

No freaking clue ? but there's always the traditional fallback options for those. Whereas during the register I want something a bit more modern, but it has to be played on the organ.

? she was awesome! The actual organist is hidden from view though and half the brilliance of what she does is in the facial expressions!!

My friends walked out to All You Need is Love...I think that must have been on the organ, so at least they know how to play that one!

Oooh nice I'll add that to my shortlist then. Part of the trouble is I don't know who my organist will be yet. The first time we attended the church at the end of the service they played black eyed peas tonights going to be a good night. Me and OH sort of looked at each other as it dawned on us that yes, that was what they were playing. I WANT THAT ORGANIST!!
