OT and sensitive... need a hug...

Mrs C, 17 September, 2010 at 15:30 Posted on Planning 0 40

...my nan just died...

OH is at work and I'm on my own so need a virtual hug from my internet weirdie friends... x

She has been up and down for a while but mum called this morning to say that she had taken a turn for the worst so I left work and went straight round to my mums. She said best not to go and see nan (I only saw her a week ago) as I struggled so much with my Grandad the day before he died... so I gave my mum a much needed hug and a cup of tea and she went back to the home to see her... that was 3 hours ago.

I feel guilty for feeling a bit relieved (she was 90 and in a fair bit of pain) and devastated that my favourite person in the world won't be at my wedding or in my life anymore...

x

? It is understandable you have a slight feeling of relief, you a probably more relieved for her not having to be in pain anymore.

Your nan will be with you on your wedding day as she will be in all your thoughts xx

You get a big fat squeeze from me.

It is a really horrible time and, sadly, there isn't much I can say to make it easier. Remember all of the nice memories you have with her and be thankful for the fact she knew how happy you are in your life. It sounds as if you were lucky enough to have a wonderful nan.

I suspect I shall be joining you in a very similar position soon. Life really is too short but she will have seen some amazing things during her lifetime.

Have a big hug, a man size box of tissues and a large G&T from me.

Oh... Am so sorry hun. A big ? from me.

You should not feel guilty. It's only human nature to be relieved that she is not in any more pain.

My thoughts are with you and your family, but if anything, know that she will still be with you on your wedding day in your thoughts.

    Take Care

    Nat

She will be in you life just not in the way that you are used to, it seems to be that you went the right way about it so dont beat yourself up about not going back to see her, and you make damn sure you and your family stick together and have a good old hug with your OH when you get the chance, and make your wedding day the day she would have wanted you to have.

You could also do something specific in her memory for your day if you wanted to, for example Steve's mum died 2 1/2 years ago and i arranged a dove release for him in her memory, didnt tell anyone about it and it went down a treat both Steve his sisters and dad were very touched by the gesture, obviously doves arent everyones thing and it was just an example of something you could do, you could even dedicate your first dance to her, have a reading done, or just remember her in your own way, but please dont be down x x HUGS x x
