O/T but any graduates around? I need help!!!

spaceychick, 15 June, 2010 at 16:58 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hope someone can help - I've got an order for two graduation cake toppers, and been told the colour of the gowns, but I'm having terrible trouble finding a pic of a gown from the back. Can anyone tell me (even better show me!) what the hood looks like at the back? I've spent ages looking on t'internet and I'm none the wiser..... I've been told grey & green (geography) and black & white (english & history). Does everyone have a mortar board cap??

You can tell I never made it to uni and prob just as well, I can't even figure out the dress code LOL

It depends on the university. For example for science at Bristol they have a black gown and a burgandy hood two shades and no mortar board. The gowns get really interesting at PhD level.

Ahhhh winter flower beat me to it. You are best to contact the company who hire the gowns to get a good idea. Generally, the UK dont do mortar boards but it might depend on the institution.....
