O/T Christmas decorations

Lynseys Designs, 4 November, 2010 at 21:37 Posted on Planning 0 7

Do you have the same every year? Different colours every year, multi coloured or stick to what you like?

I don't usually buy Christmas decorations so early but last year I tried and tried to find a nice tree topper at the last minute and couldn't so this year I'm buying everything early and changing the colour scheme for the 4th year in a row!

I got 3 of everything and will go back for more soon to spread the cost a bit and I need to work out what silver ones we have as that is the one colour I do stick to every time. Don't you think they are very appropriate for me especially the Sparkles one which is covered in glitter also 3 bells on it as well?!

Last year hubby said no to the Sparkles dec but I've spent today in tears so he didn't have the heart to say no and gave in to a girlie tree!

Our colour scheme in the flat is brown, teal and a bit of gold. So we opted for purple, gold and brown decs. We will have the same this year as last although we will be adding to them. The amount that both of our families spend on Christmas decorations is frightening. As fro buying them early I am always on the look out for decs or something that could go with them.

Sorry so used to flashing... that and am pretty damn proud of them.

Oh I'll need to find all the crystal snowflakes I made last year.....in the loft somewhere!

It must be great seeing all the kids creations on the tree and I'll happily give up my anal co-ordinated tree when kiddies come along. x

For the last 3 (Possibly 4) years I have had the same tree and decorations. I've had the last 3 Christmas's in 3 different homes too, Gosh I move too much!!

I have a black 6 foot tree with red, blue and silver baubles. I just have ice white LED lights too.

I really hate tinsel and trees that have everything just chucked at them, I'm a bit anal over decorating it; the sort of person to ask someone to help then re-arrange everything they put on LOL!

I really don't like my tree anymore, like I said, I had it 3 houses ago. My house is all country/shabby chic type of style now so a big black tree with bright baubles really doesn't go!

I decided last week I would (For the first time ever!!) get a real tree this year. I'll be getting all new decorations.

    Without red baubles on -

And with them on (Decided after a week or so it needed a bit more colour!) -

Minus a lot of the lower baubles which at that point were all over the house (Thanks cats!!)

I made some of my own decs last year too. Made with stuff fromt he garden plus a couple of baubles lol -

And salt dough decs (Have no idea why I did a horse!) -

Wow aren't you all very crafty. My mum traumatised me from making me making decorations as a child so the most I can manage now is Swarovski Snowflakes.

    Love the purple colours.
