OT Couldn't believe my eyes! Rant.....

Mushy, 27 June, 2009 at 19:05 Posted on Planning 0 6

I have to rant about this....sorry!

I just saw a boy, maybe early to mid teens (!!!!) wearing a black hoody with the word 'cnut' (not spelled the way i have!) in huge white lettering!

[smilies not working...insert shocked face here]

unbelievable.

I feel so angry about it! How is that ok?? I really felt like reporting him to the police for breach of the peace or something! Probably couldn't do anything though, due to 'human rights' arrrgggghhhh [now an angry red face]

Then there was the story a couple of weeks ago about the officers at Heathrow who weren't allowed to wear those lapel pins in support of the troops.......

Oh, i really have no words..

I know it's vulgar and common usage is intended to be offensive, but why hate a word that describes our bits? I agree it's inappropriate to have it on a hoodie, but I've never understood why this particular word is considered more offensive than others.

Don't necessarily agree with your first point but with you on the second. What makes one word worse than others? I understand the context makes words 'bad' but what makes this worse than any other swear word?

Would never wear it on my clothing though!

I very much enjoyed the episode of Baldedash and Piffle where Germaine Greer argued for the c word to be reclaimed by women. Worth a look if you can find it online somewhere.
