OT - do you ever wonder what planet your OH is from?!

Snow Patroller, 14 August, 2009 at 12:34 Posted on Planning 0 17

I've had gastric flu (well I still have it...) so i've eaten 3 slices of dry toast, about 2 dessert spoons of plain boiled rice and a small cup of chicken noodle soup since Tues night.

Mr SP comes home from the Norway Scotland footie 'tour' last night having missed the worst of my illness (so I had to look after myself pretty much - believe me, a cats litter tray is not a good thing to have to contend with when suffering from gastric flu, nor is the smell of wet cat food!!)

He offers me a plate of 'prawn curry' for dinner.

Just now he's offered me 'schizuchan chicken' for my lunch (having totally missed the fact this morning I'd have really appreciated a cuppa tea and a slice of toast being made for me - but as I didn't 'ask' I didn't get - silly me!!!!)

Does he not get (a) how ill I've been (b) what gastric flu is? (c) that i need plain boring food little and often just to be able to keep it down??

Geesh on a bike!

Rant over.

Mrs SP x

Oh poor you Mrs SP.....Gastric flu is horrible

Men are so from another planet......mine is in his own little world.

When he was getting over an op ...and he wasnt ill at all....he was a total pain and we ran around after him. Im off work with suspected swine flu at the moment, Im in quarantine for 8 days.....and he wanted me to go shopping tonight and then take the dogs out..... if I brush my hair Im exhausted......

I give up! Love him to bits...but hes an insensitive twit at times

    Hope you feel better soon

Women are from mars men from venus and how true is that! the sad thing is if Mr SP was ill he would be in bed with a little bell to summon you every two minutes lol.

Hope you get better & are feeling more yourself soon x

Sounds like you've had an awful week! They just don't get it sometimes do they.

Sometimes making conversation with my OH is like pulling teeth. He's either fixated on the telly or I have to keep asking questions about his day, etc to get anything out of him So frustrating.

Hope you soon feel better x

? No way you look anywhere near 50! I would have put you in your 30s!!

I agree with what everyones said so far, men just dont get it! Thankfully i'm not ill, nor is OH, but I bought him an expereince day for xmas as its what he really wanted - he even cried when I gave it to him, and it wasnt one of those cheapy ones, in fact im still paying for it! Anyway he hasnt done it yet and we were talking about it the other day and he said why dont we just sell it on ebay! 'Insensitive twit' is putting it mildly! Does he think Ive skinted myself for so long just to sell it on bloody ebay! I think he meant good but im still struggling to see it!!!

Wow, Sherrie - Wouldn't have thought it!!!

My OH is another one of those from another planet. I've currently got a dislocated knee - have to elevate and not weight bear. He comes in from work and says "why have you not done anything today?!" Grrrrrrr!

What if it was him who had gastric flu! Bet things would have been different then.

H had me almost take him to hospital once as he was insisting his monster hangover was a serious illness as he hadn't even been able to keep toast down all day!

(he forgot he had been drinking rose from the bottle at the work xmas do the night before)

I'm obviously an exception as my H is good when I'm ill and he tries to get me to stay in bed and rest....selfish reason so he has the tv to himself! lol.

He is always bringing me cups of tea and food but if I'd asked for anything last night as he also just home from Oslo I think I would have been up a gum tree with any such request!

lucky you PG - i don't ever, in 16 years recall Mr SP offering me a cup of tea. Ever.

No, I stand by my previous statement - in his own sweet way he lives in a bit of a 'selfish' bubble tbh! Comes from spending his life in hotels for work where everything is done for him I guess - forgets when he comes home he's supposed to be in a relationship where things are shared!

    And Sherrie H - 50 my arse!

I could re-write the Men are from Mars book!, h2b is definately from another planet.

I got my hair hi-lighted today (like I always do) but for a special occassion, my best friends wedding tomorrow ?, asked him if he thought it was nice and got the reply "sure you always do it the same"...erm.....SO!!!!!, compliment me please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I ask him to make me dinner its like I'm asking him to squeeze the last drop of blood he has in his body but it's my fault, I have him spoilt...I do too much for him cos I loves him ?
