[:$] O/T Does anyone want to....

ruthy_wuthy, 3 November, 2008 at 15:48 Posted on Planning 0 24

Start some form of WP/Hitched book club with me?

I really need to start reading books more often but I need to get motivated and I thought that having people to chat about the books on here might help as it would mean that I would not be missing out on valuable hitching time?

I know it may sound like a really silly idea but I enjoy reading and I never make time for it apart form on holiday...and I'm sure there are thousands of classics that I haven't even read yet!

Anyone?

If my memory serves me rightly, there was a book club sort of thing on OT a couple of years ago which worked well. I don't think it's still going though.

It's not for me though, it sounds daft but books bore me.

    Wooohooo! 3 people!

I thought I was going to get laughed at!

We could call ourselves the book club kleek - just like the gym kleek but with more books.

I find that if I get bored reading a book in the first 2 or 3 chapters - it's just not my kind of book. Having said that, I think there's something really cool about not being able to put a book down and just wanting to read and read and read. I find it very satisfying...although equally as frustrating if the ending is rubbish!

Edited because it took me so long to write this response that I missed another member to our book club!

    Wecome! ?

I'm a bit scared now. I'm really not very knowledgeable when it comes to books...so we'll have to start off with something easy!

Takes me about 6 months to read a book.. even a year. I'll start one and then lose it somewhere then pick it up and read a bit more and never finish it till a longggg time later. I only read about dead bodies and forensics/crime. But wondering if I should try a diiferent genre..

I'm not sure how book clubs work..i just like the idea!

I guess we just decide on a book...then decide how long we need to ready the book then we come on here chat about what we liked and what we didn't like and things like that?

So maybe one person can choose a book of their choice each time...or we can just vote on a genre or whether we want fiction or non fiction?

    I'm hoping there's a library near me! ?

Add me in, I love my books. Don't read as much since living with h2b, due to house jobs etc. So my time to read is in the bath with lot's of hot water bubbles for a good chapter or 2. Then get moaned at for being in the bath 4 hours just ignore.

Tory Hayden is supberb, I have read both ghost girl (true story) and just another kid to fair I think all her books are true stories.

I have just finished another one for the life me I don't know what it was called, have lent to mil2b.
