O/T - Eyebrow Threading

Samantha2704, 11 July, 2011 at 11:35 Posted on Planning 0 11

Morning everyone!

I’m thinking about having my eyebrows threading for the wedding, has anyone here had it done?! If so, would you recommend having it done a few times before the wedding or will I be ok just the once? I’ve heard it defines your eyebrows a lot which I don’t mind but my main problem is I get a lot of hair growing between my brow & hairline at the side IYKWIM!? they almost blend in to each other! I’ve bleached it a few times which was fine to start with but now its getting to the point where I just look very hairy! I also get a bit of a uni brow, Damn me having dark hair it shows up everywhere!!

TIA

I've had it done and to be honest I wasn't convinved it was any better than my usual waxing. I go to teh same beautician regularly and get waxed above and below the brow as like you I have hair above that gets in the way. I would recommend whichever option you go for, go for a trial befroe you need them so that you can check they do it in a style you want. My makeup artist also defined my brows even more with a pencil which I wouldn't have thought about as I have fairly thick eyebrows but it did make a real differenfce

I have mine done every 3 weeks and would never go back to waxing/plucking. Def have a few goes before the wedding, you can make sure you like the shape that way. They will probably thread the extra hair away for you, mine tends to almost meet in the middle too if I leave it long enough and they always get rid of it! I feel your dark hair pain ?

I normally get mine threaded every 4 weeks, before that I used to get them plucked / tidied up by a beautician, now I just nip into Debenhams and see the ladies in the chair, takes 10 mins (if that) so for you, with your wedding only 19 days away, I would say, get them threaded just a couple of days before - it will be fine. the pain is only momentarily. (honest).

For me, threading really does define my eyebrows, I've never had them waxed so can't compare, but I much prefer threading to plucking because of the definition.

I started having mine done a few months ago, I have to have mine done every two weeks (what can I say I have man brows!) I love the result and wouldn't go back to waxing or tweezing.

I find it more uncomfortable than tweezing and waxing but the result is def worth it - I would have it done at least once before you have it done for your wedding :o)

I am a religious threder! i had them done once and loved the result! first time round it took about 6 weeks before i needed them doing again as i could tweeze the odd hair that grew back as the shap was there already! i would say have them done a few days before the big day the result is fab though! for the best result i only go to Asian beauticians as i went to someone else who just did not have the knack, it took longer and the shape was no where near as good! plus the lady who does mine charges £2.50! she's brilliant, she does asian hair and beauty, an absolute bargain!

Wow that really is a bargin!!

Im so tempted to have it done now, thinking about making myself an appointment at the local salon this week then maybe go back to a tidy up a few days before the wedding!

Without this sounding rather strange, can anyone take a picture of there eyebrows!! the only thing i worry about is if they'll have a fake/painted on look!

Sorry for hijacking slightly but does the beautician just make your eyebrows into a 'standard' shape or will they do it how you want?

    Good point Purple Pixie!!

I've had a look at a few before & after pictures on the web & looks like they can be done in all shapes, i dont like the 'standard line' shape, mine are very defined! X

I get mine threaded (when I can be bothered) the woman normally asks what shape I would like. The area where the hair has been threaded is normaly a bit puffy for a couple hours then I'm fine

Just explain what "look" you want, whether you just want a tidy up or if you are trying to achieve a particular look! tell them you would like theym to just do a tidyup intitally then to check in the mirror before deciding if you want more "shape"
