    Hi Laura,

I had an amazing halloween party a few years ago (if I do say so myself) Our thinking behind it was 'horror films', so this is what we did.

    - SEVEN, had the seven sins written about the house

-Blair witch project, wooden stick things (like in the film) hanging around the house

    - Blair witch, got old dust sheets and blood (red paint) hand prints all over them. These were used over the sofas and also protected them.

    - Witch board, ouija board set up on side

    - SIlence of the lambs (my favourite) We went to the woods and took pictures of me laying face down in the woods (yes it sounds odd), so I looked like deadbody. Made them black and white, blew them up and put all over back wall, with other pictures like knife with fake blood on, so the whole wall looked like evidence collected from crime scene. This was very popular and lots of people took pictures home as a keep sake!!

    - other things we did. Had chalk body outlines on the floor, police tape to section off rooms we didnt want entered, and eery music playing from down the stairs (found cheap CD in Asda)

We had vodka jellies and made 'blood' punch. Both very popular and god knows how we made them, just lots of red and alcohol.

Let use know if any of these ideas are what your after. This year we are kid friendly and having one at hotel, and got dance rehearsals tonight for 'Thriller' dance - my back's killing me.

This is picture of OH and BIL at a quiet halloween at home!

There is a cocktail shot you can make called a brain haemorrhage that is perfect for a halloween theme

    Ingredients -

    Peach Schnapps

    Baileys

    Grenadine (or red aftershock)

In a shot glass pour just over half a glass of schnapps. Next dribble the baileys directly into the middle of the glass. You dont want it to float, if poured properly it will form a ball in the middle of the schnapps. Dribble a little grenadine in for the blood.

this is a shot so should be taken in one go. A thin skin forms around the 'brain', so when you shoot it, it pops on your tongue

    Shaz

The Brain Haemorrhage sounds like a really weird one, I've never tried it, but I think I will this year.

We usually make sangria and call it blood punch. One thing you could do is have someone dress up in a witch halloween costume, and buy one of those cauldron-looking bowls and some dry ice. She can stir the "witches brew" and if theres dry ice in it, it will create a really cool smoke effect.

The only problem is that I'm not sure exactly where to get dry ice... I think you can order it online and have it rush delivered

Here's another creepy drink recipe you might want to try out: It's called Dead Baby Boy

    • 2 oz. vodka or gin
    • 1 olive
    • 1 sugar cube
    • Tonic water

Collins or Highball glass, a simple vodka or gin and tonic. Tie olive to sugar cube with piece of string or use toothpick. When sugar dissolves, the 'dead baby boy' will float to the top.
