OT - have you ever met anyone famous?

Pretty much what the subject says, have you ever met anyone famous? If so, who? Without sounding like I'm trying to namedrop, I used to help marshall at the British Open, so I've met quite a few professional golfers. I've also met DJ Spoony (LEGEND!), Theo Walcott & a few other footie players....

Without sounding like I'm trying to namedrop, I used to help marshall at the British Open, so I've met quite a few professional golfers. I've also met DJ Spoony (LEGEND!), Theo Walcott & a few other footie players.

My favourite though, has 10000% got to be Ronan Keating. I met him when I was marshalling on a charity golf day and he was getting ready to tee off. My friend and I, I was only 15 at the time, went over to speak to him but I couldn't talk. I just completely froze and went all giddy. I've never in my life felt like such an idiot as I did then!!

So, come on, make me jealous of your sleb encounters...

I actually marshalled for him!! We basically had to walk round the course with him and send his scores to the people who do the score board. He was pretty awesome! This was quite a few years ago though when he was just starting to get good.

My favourite was Graham McDowell. I remember asking him to say "fourteen" because I love the way Irishmen say it. I swooned and I was only about 15!

Ooh, ladies, ladies, ladies, be prepared to be topped big time. In 1994 I met... Rhino from the gladiators. I'll accept my award for best 'who have you met' right about now!! I've also met Bruce Willis but hey, he wasn't a patch on Rhino!!

I've not 'met' anyone famous. But when i was bout 13 i really fancied Tiger woods. My step dad took me to the open at troon and all I wanted to do was follow Tiger. I wasn't allowed to do this.

Anyway I seen him in the distance and totally focussed on getting close to him I started running, a man was going under the barrier and I accidently tapped the side of his head with my foot. Next thing I knew i had bout 10 BIG guys round me!

The guy I kicked looked and i said sorry, told him he wasn't meant to be in the barrier and said I was trying to get to Tiger. My step Dad had a bright red face and kept apologising. I said it was this guys own fault for being on the wrong side of the barrier.

Anyway as it turns out 'that guy' was Prince Andrew.

    Woops!

Ive been to a few conventions and met some pretty famous people:

    Anthony Head

    James Marsters

    Olivia Williams

    Alan Tudyk

Met loads of other people from other Joss Whedon shows (Dollhouse, buffy and angel, Firefly), True Blood, battlestar galactica, etc - will be meeting more im sure.

I also met Daniel Day Lewis in the hospital where I worked and he was really polite (I had also looked after his mum).

My other half is a football ref, (although pretty much given up now) and he used to work for West Ham Corprate events as a ref, and he also was quite high up in the Essex league many moons ago, and did alot of charity events, in which I helped organise too.

We met quite a few from Eastenders, Jack Branning, (Scott I think his name is?) He is soooo lush in RL, and he smelt sooooo good. The whole cast were really lovely and so down to earth with the kids and fans, especially Perry Fenwick (Billy Mitchell) Also did a game of page 3 girls against various other models, Jodie Marsh was on 1 team, and Jordan with Linzi Dawn McKenzie was on the other and it was quite funny (again many yrs ago) Competition between them all was rife! Razor Ruddock, Ralf Little, few out of the bill etx...

Erm, again due to WHU, alot of West Ham players and staff, I also worked at a football club as Head steward in the away end a few yrs ago, and used to meet footballs often, like Dean Ashton, Scottie Parker,Joe Cole, John Terry, Paul Koncheski, Lampard, Jamie Redknapp, also Freddie Flintoff, John Bishop, JAmes Cordon, Craig Mackill-Smith, The old programme on Sky One, DreamTeam... Where my other half was a football official, he has been on TV a few times too, so have my own lil "star" lol.

Me and the OH are also friends with a footballer, and he and his partner came to our engagement party, and will be at our wedding.

Again, they are just people doing a job, with a few more zero's in their bank account, personnally, I find it nothing to get fazed over. ?

I went to school with Jack Bevan from the band 'Foals', and still see him down the local pubs. Never think of him as being famous, until I hear him on radio 1 doing interviews or on tv and it feels very surreal.

Also met Jimmy Carr. He had a chat and signed my cheque book for me (only thing on me he could sign) .

I can't recall meeting any famous people, other than some Bolton Wanderers players. Living in Sheffield, we see a lot of snooker players walking around town, which is good because I love snooker. I turned into a complete snooker geek the other week when we were having a meal at our venue and John Higgins and Dennis Taylor walked in!

My friends ex is a chef at a really good restaurant in Sheffield, and him and my friend were once having a meal in the town centre and apparently 'some scruffy looking guy' started talking to them, asking if their food was nice and saying he was really into cooking. My friends ex then went on to offer him a job trial at his restaurant, which he refused as he was only in Sheffield 'for a couple of weeks'. It turns out he offered a job trial to Ronnie O'Sullivan!

When I was a kid I met Cliff RIchard's and he picked me up and moved me out of the way so he could clap along with the band that were escorting the people on to the plane. He then sang "we're all going on a summer Holiday and I got his autograph....... A few day's later he had to cancel his Gig as he was unwell - caught flu or something.

I've also met: Gloria Hunniford, Rhino (from Gladiators,) Jill Dando, Bobby Davero, Rolf Harris, Barry Mcguigan (boxer), Jeremy Beadle all at one party. Jason from Take That, Christopher Eccleston (at work).

My True claim to fame and most famous person I've met is ................. the BUM DOUBLE for Kevin Costner from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves!! From the scene when he goes for a swim!!

    Yikes.

I've met Robert Duvall and Michael Keaton, and stood next to Dougray Scott (who is VERY tall).

I also do a bit of work at Glastonbury so have sneaked backstage and partied in a few winnebagos Smiley smile Best one would have to be Madness's - kept in touch with the band and staff so I go see them whenever they are gigging. It must be love is the song Neil proposed to, and it's also our first dance so I do get a bit squishy over them Smiley smile

I've also met the Strokes and Vampire Weekend when I wangled my way backstage at Rockness - I also walked into a portaloo as Blondie was coming out.

Oh and the scottish Hobbit, Billy something? And Jarvis Cocker, and Robert Carlyle.

    Think thats about it!

I saw two characters from TOWIE today in Lakeside. Had no idea who they were until my future SIL started taking photos. Apparently we also walked past Brian from BB but again I had no clue.
